Fluttering at a window, a moth that really isn't quite native to the area, but only the sharp eyed and knowledgeable would realize that

The window pushes open. "Moth, come in... Vashti, I call thee." A whisper os welcome - and a vital invitation.

almost a bob and bow if moths can do such things, and in she goes. a flutter behind a dresser, and then out steps Vashti. She's dressed quite grandly now, new beadwork and not her typical style..

OOC: Well, something like that as far as hat beads and clothes go. Maybe a tad grayer on the blouse

"Oh!" A delighted breeze of a whisper. "You look lovely!"

Vashti blushes, "Tis a gift from my suitor, how he pranked me when I fell asleep. He could have shaved my head and had me sing Les Miserabe…. a missed opportunity"

"Well, tis lovely. I like the hat. Needst thou aught? Tea? Cookies?"

"Tea would be welcome, perhaps with a cube of conversation?" Hopeful

"That could be arranged. I.. pardon... but.. would you care to visit on Friday? I haven't made firm plans yet, but.. "

"Would Friday be thy date of arrival upon the calendar?" Curious

She smiles. "Aye. Friday the thirteenth! I was born on a Friday, too, but it happens rarely..."

Vashti looks MUCH relieved, "Aye, well, tis not like I came here to find that very thing, thy brute of a boyfriend saying he had to hurry and get the a gift and blowing me to the side as he raced like a mad hatter who forgot to glove himself." She tuts, "Really, sister. The azure giant tis obsessed with you at times." A pause "I should take tips."

She pinks. "Earl is very sweet, yes."

"And I know not when thy birthday is, sister-mine."

"Oh, Friday the thirteenth is my unbirthday. I don't bother with birthdays, they've always been too crowded" Wistful for a second then she carries on "But I shall be there on this most unluckiest of days to wish they a witch's joy. Gifting on such short notice may lack. I am sorry"

"Your presence is a present, as they say."

"Likely we shall have tea and cake, instead of tea and cookies. I... care not for a large party, nu?"

"I call off the dancers I rented from the emberclub" deadpan

She ducks her head, smiling once more. "Aye."

"Sister dear, I would ..thank you, you show more trust and welcome than a redcap such as myself, though I am a redcap with a taste for clothing, deserves." She smiles, " I shall be there with bells on, Poe sized ones, so it maybe noisy. Who else will ye invite? WIll earl be blocked by moat and dragon so we might be entertained?"

"Mmm.. likely Earl, mayhaps August and Clem. I have not so many friends..."

"Oh yes, a hundred rocks are better than five gemstones"

A rattle of not-laughter. "Aye. And you, a pearl. Come, let us go to the kitchen."

She tips her hat, smiles and follows, noticing as she goes by the snoozing Bronte, "Why sister, thy bookwyrm looks positively glutted upon treasures sparkling." A tisk "Has thou been overly indulging her again?"

"I spoil her terribly..."

"1122 too - look sharp, you will see him nestled against her."

"ah, somewhere a lady doth pine for his shift of duty to end" she tips her hat at both 1122 and the snoozing Bronte before following Zara "Sister, I knowest a secret- well several in fact, were I to tell they I fear thy might grow indignant, but it is meant well. Please do not, like Vesuvius, burst"

"I shan't. Do tell?" Zara flits around the kitchen, filling the kettle and setting it on the stove.

"Shalimar hath felt like a lowly louse pooka since he near poisoned the poor creature. He hath been slipping her books to make up for it when you doze at the table in Runic Stone. "A pause "While not harmful to her glamour, I fear. a book of puns or five might have made it's way"

"Oh dear..."

"Well, tis better than Ayn Rand."

She winces "Yes, he did not know Bronte was omnipresence then, truly. But should Bronte begin to oerly pun, thou knowest why"

A sigh. "Earl puns, too. I cope."

"Love softens many offenses. May even render them endearing."

"Ye gads? Punning trolls? I wondered how they passed their time among themselves. Mind me to avoid Rivervale"

"I think it must be something... Nordic? Midwestern, even?"

Tea is properly had, Vasthi is almost sluagh like in mannerisms and even seems ready to talk of sluagh like things, though her pooka tongue makes her a less than reliable exchange of knowledge.

Zara patently enjoys Vashti's company, and, if allowed, prattles on about "her" library.

"And this library, didst though gain an assistant? Say, still a childling, near a head shorter than thee, also a sluagh?"

She tilts her head. "Velvet visits, a'times..."

"Well, a young sluagh girl , her name I knowst not, is circling your wards looking as shy as a colt seeking a way to join the adult herd in the next corral. Tis adorable in a 'who can blame tigers for reducing the litter' kind of way"

"How odd. I shall watch."
