Symon takes mental notes of this, before heading back to meet with Dagmar ahead of the Ceremony.

And he'll find her no doubt!

Dagmar faces the greatest challenge of her young life! A childling has found her, a troll girl. The girl, no more than seven, has assumed a watching position side by side with Dagmar, and seems to be mimicking her, not with a pooka's mockery, but quite sincere effort at emulation.

Okay, not the greatest challenge, but a mildly amusing perhaps?

She is clearly of The Snowmantle's people, and has managed to snag herself a smaller polearm with the words 'kills bugs dead' recently crayola marked on it.

Symon of course will see this 'mini-me' of his girlfriend right by her.

Between Connor and CJ, Dagmar has learned the art of Quiet Space.

No condescending commentary, but there is simply Room. A place on the lee side of the troll for said childing to "be."

Symon eyes the child, and then his own eyes roll upward towards the heavens. But, not when the little clone is watching.

The clone in question seems vindicated in her decision to ape the older troll's motions. And for a troll childling this IS playtime of a sort, and playtime is very serious business!

She is, of course, completely ignored by the sluagh. If she even noticed him in the shadow at all

Dag doesn't draw an undue attention his way. She can feel his heartbeat. She knows he's fine, even when she can't see him.

Symon manages to hide from the youngster, but he notices she would have caught any non sluagh. The little girl appears to be alert, turning her head as if she heard something but then missing him

Dagmar can see that the little girl is on the ball and might indeed make a very observant Thane someday. She needs more shotput training, brow knitting skills, and troll food as she wants to be big and strong, but she's got time for that.

Finally a voice calls out "Vilde? WHere are you?" The troll girl gulps and tries to become one with the wall even more.

Brow? ("Expected somewhere?")

Jaw twitch ("Yup. Rather guard")

"Vilde," That same voice again, "It's time for sewing lessons? Where are you, dear?"

Vilde winces at the term 'sewing lessons'

A little chin lift and shoulder square. ("Follow me.")

She nods and readies to follow.

But Dagmar is heading towards the voice!

Vilde hits that moment, the moment that separates those who are only brave in areas they feel confident in, and the moment when they GET brave despite their fear in an area they're not confident at all. Perhaps she feels she cannot fail her newly chosen role model, perhaps because she's already going forward, perhaps she's stronger inside than she thinks, but after that brief but long lasting moment the childling follows Dagmar straight into the belly of the Beast!

Or in this case, the presence of a whole lot of boggan! The woman is immense in all directions for a boggan, like ... five foot SIX and a half... and wide in equal amounts.

Dagmar strolls ahead - not too fast, but steadily and with purpose.

The boggan is dressed up like a Brunette Mrs. Garrett, and if you get that reference, the dreaming commends you keeping the old lore alive. She turns to see Dame Dagmar and starts to bob her head for the knight, then sees who is behind her, "Oh THERE you are, Vilde. I hope she's not been any trouble, Dame Dagmar? I'm Missus Pluffington, I am a part time governess for the childlings here."

"Oh? Well, I hope I'm not stealing her. She's a good page."

VIlde looks hopeful at that term./ Mrs. Pluffington however seems pleasantly surprised, "Well, in point of fact she is supposed to be getting ready for sewing classes. She's having a wee bit of trouble there, but nothing she won't get over by trying and trying again, but it can wait if you have other duties for her, seeing as you're an honored guest." She seems to look between the two trolls as if reading something and then looks to Dagmar "Sometimes it does childlings good to get a brief break from their usual routine, and so if you and the girl both agree, I see no lasting harm in postponing the lessons for another day."

Amused-fond-protective look at the childling. "Well, not every day I get to meet new little storms, either. Thank you for letting me monopolize her time for a bit, ma'am."

Vilde perks up, and nods at the Boggan.

A pause. "Are you on machines yet? Those little needles for handsewing can be pretty tricky." She holds up her broad, blunt hands and waggles her calloused fingers.

Rather than be offended by the girl's preference, the rather large (by boggan standards) woman looks quite fond and says "Well, you're most welcome." The boggan then tuts, "Not yet, no. I try to teach hand sewing and machines come later. It's true, Vilde has had a little trouble with the..finesse."

A small frown.

Vilde makes a face at 'Finesse' ("I dishonor my threads.")

"Sometimes things aren't one size fits all, is all."

Protective.

"Well, I'm afraid we don't have troll sized needles despite the trolls that came here a few years back, I keep trying to get some but," Mrs. Pluffington says "There are complications with delivering them here and they go fast. Low supply, big demand, and we don't really have custom needle makers here."

The boggan doesn't seem offended, and is actually sympathetic, but while no lie exists, but there's clearly more to the story of missing 'big needles'.

Vilde squirms and gives a side glance to Dagmar ("It's not her fault but I do stab myself")

Brow furrow.

"So, do all childlings have to learn sewing?"

"Well, yes," She answers, "Has to do with the prophecy. May never come up in their life times, but better safe than sorry."

BROW.

Vilde nods firmly and quotes, speaking for the first time "Seven with one blow, said the little tailor, and giants he did fell. But one day the seven may return, so learn the tailoring arts well. For the day will come so say the leaves, when seven fell giants of yore, will stomp and smash and take what they want, unless the land be wise in the ways of thread lore! So every child of the land, should take up needle in his or her hand, and ready should they be the chosen one. TO defeat not with sword sharp or axe quite dread, but needle and thread instead!" then Vilde whispers "But it's still a painful bore."

If the boggan heard that addendum she doesn't act like it, "Yes, some child will one day be the chosen one, and they'll need to be prepared in at least the basics in sewing. SO.. no pun intended, we make sure they all get lessons."

"But not with adequate tools."

"Well. I can call Dame Kerri."
