Kerri stands there for a few minutes, head cocked (unfortunately a bit like Connor when puzzled). She goes over in her head everything she knows about milkweed, but settles on the likelihood that joke is simply in the name. But who was in such desperate need of milk that they needed to swipe it?

Whoever did it, the Dogs considered them not a threat.

It clearly wasn't Connor. Not that he wouldn't take milk, but the peanut butter cookies are still there.

Definitely not Connor, then. "Hmmm."

She looks around the kitchen. "Anybody or anything want to give me a hint about who took the milk?

Echo wags, he would love to help but... uhm.. he doesn't speak human.

((I think Kerri has Willow Whisper...would that work on Echo?))

Kerri crouches down and gives Echo a good two-handed ear rub (using that as a bunk).

IT works, and he soon is glittering with the cantrip and ready to answer

"So, Echo... can you tell me who helped the milk to go missing?"

"Yes, yes I can!" He says happily! That's one question down.

She was already wincing in anticipation before she finished the question. "Yes, yes. Good job. Who took the milk and left the milkweed?"

"Bird Girl," He wags.

She sighs and nods. Echo gets another scritch. "And where is Amity now?"

The dog sniffs, Then says "Not here. Want track?"

"I would love that. I'll follow you and your keen nose." A final scruffle and she stands again.

Soon, there is a hike, the dog sniffs the ground and goes on, as they head towards the Novak House. It is across from Miss McGillicuddy's house, but none the worse for that.

Well, you can't choose your neighbors. Miss McGillicuddy might say the same. Kerri gives Echo one more scritch. "Very good boy." Then she goes to the front door and knocks.

"Oh what the furk?" A woman's voice, clearly a knocker, and it swings open. Vanesa Novak is there, dolled up pretty nicely. The nocker says "Is there a Chimerical rampage or something o therwise this is not a good time."

A blink. "No emergency, and I'm sorry to interrupt, Vanesa. Could I speak with Amity for a moment or two?"

A pause, then "Okay, what did my daughter do now?" A sigh "I love my spawn more than my tool kit, but if there's shit going down I should be told."

Kerri puts up a hand in a calming gesture. "It's nothing serious. She left something at the Lodge, and I just want to make sure whether she meant to leave or if she wants it back."

"What is it she left?" The nocker says "Better not be a glitter bomb, I told her before that she can't leave those in freeholds. The nobles do NOT appreciate that particular form of crowning."

"Some flowers. Nothing dire," she says with a reassuring grin. "I can tell you're frazzled. Is there anything I can do to help out?"

"Actually, " She says "Not frazzled, more frustrating that it got a hump here, but the kids come first. See, Husband and I are reliving a very romantic night... won't go into the smutty details, but it involved White Russians and A lot of Fudge. Almost didn't happen because the kids didn't get enough Milk the first time but they went out again and saved the day. "

"Ahhh!" She nods with understanding (on a few levels). "Question: Would you let me borrow the kids for the night so they can have a sleepover at the Lodge?"

"Nope. I would not," She says "They're not here. Already got a baby sitter."

A grin and a nod. "Fair enough! I'll get out of your hair. You two lovebirds have a lovely night!"

"Hey, if this involves them crossing a line some how, and with a redcap and a pooka it probably does, just send me the bill, okay?" She says "SOmetimes I care more about where there hearts are than where their brains are. I'll give them a talk later about floral bombardment if you insist, but as for other shit... I'll cover it." She glances back over her shoulder, then says "Sometimes True Love Conquering All forgives a lot, ya know?"

"Honestly, no serious violation at all, and only things done with as much responsibility and good will as possible, I assure you. They're not in trouble in the slightest, and there's no need for a scolding or correcting at all, as far as I'm concerned."

"Ok. In the mean time, I'm gonna go let my husband bring out my furking delicate feminine demure desire so I can bounce on him repeatedly with the taste of fudge in my mouth and White Russian in my blood stream. Later!"

"Sounds like an excellent plan." And I might have some ideas to share with Olgar later. She turns and heads for home, Echo at her heel.

Echo follows along, attentive and on duty. It's possible that later, Kerri will learn that Siv is baby sitting and treating the kids to the appartment complex pool so the Novaks can have romance. Fiona on duty and repaying baby sitting back and all that. But for now! Well, The mystery of the missing milk is solved!

And Kerri makes a brief detour to pick up more milk on the way home.
