A small frown, looking at Eden and Lydia.

"...I'm too old." Softly.

"I didn't say that."

The frown lingers.

"And...if it's something you want, I think it's absolutely appropriate. I'm also completely comfortable with you being escort for Lydia if you decide she should serve the role. It is in your hands."

Vali says "Actually, while there are some customs, fae have moments in history where kithain were too rare to make sure it was only young wilder women. Even guys can be Firebrands in a pinch" Vali syas

"And as Lydia says...she may serve next year."

A guilty look and she shakes her head.

Lydia nods "It's good, Dame Dagmar. Sides, word is you're leaving us for a bit to be emmisary. THis could be a good memory. Big Brother Zane tells me about the good you do."

"I can guard."

Kerri considers for a moment, then nods, putting a hand on Dagmar's shoulder.

"Lydia, come with me. We'll find you appropriate clothes."

Eden sighs and points at Dagmar and Lydia "I hearby give my blessing on both of you to carry the next leg of this death race, you are now honorary firebrands" Most of that is true, save the 'death race'

Vali arches a brow as Lydia 'drafts' two for one

Kerri blinks, then says, "You too, Dagmar. The firebrand has decreed it!"

"Cool" Lydia says

Blink!

"Do I need something white?"

"We can get you a belt or a scarf" Vali nods

"I think we can accomodate. Let's see!"

And now it's about to become a rapid costuming montage!

Sylvi has an old Firebrand costume that can be altered if need be. As did Magdeline who left it here. And there are plenty of white bits of outfit here

It doesn't make much sense to keep Sylvi's old costume as a keepsake when it can be put to good use! Sylvi herself hasn't thought about it for years. So a bit slicing on the side seams, a white belt, and it can work beautifully as sort of a white tabard over Dagmar's garb. Magdeline's dress requires much less adjustment for Lydia. Soon they are both bedecked in pale fabric.

Lydia looks so happy she could cry.

A small smile at the kinain.

Soon, Kerri declares. "There! Ready?"

"Ready" Lydia says

"You both look wonderful. And...thank you. I appreciate both of you. This is the first time I've managed this, instead of Brekke, and...well. Thank you."

Vali takes the smaller lantern with the ember and says "As you have both been deemed worthy to hold the very fire of our haven, as you are ready to do so, I hereby offer up this, your charge, to your care. Does the Chieftain concur?"

"Will all my heart and will," Kerri says with a solemn nod.

"Then, the two firebrands are hereby entrusted with this sacred task" Vali says "Firebrand Dagmar, Firebrand Lydia, Do you accept?"

"I do."

"I do" Lydia says in unison

And the lantern is offered to them both , to hold together.

More symbolic than needful

Dagmar joins Lydia in holding the lantern.

Kerri smiles. "Safe journey to you both."

"I think you know the way," she adds with a wink.

Lydia grins! then says "YEs, Chief" Then looks to Dagmar "Let's go?"

Grunt. Nod.

And off they go.

Kerri watches them from the doorway as they depart the Lodge property.

When they're out of sight, she closes the door. Then she turns to Eden. "You are too clever by half."

Eden says "Me? I'm the NICE pooka? You must be praising rikki"

She dimples

Kerri chuckles. "I may have to find two mints for your pillow."

Vali chuckles "Well, Lydia is technically NOT allowed without special approval but yeah, good mix. I thought she needed it too"

"Oh, as if Eden didn't just strongarm me into that special approval?"

"I noticed, and respected the hell out of it" Vali admits

And Eden, the Firebrand blushes anew, but does NOT apologize. And she will be delighted with her two mints
