Siv Waveborne groans. When she first decided to be a supportive wife and co mother, by taking those damn meds that would allow her to lactate, she knew it would be the RIGHT thing, the responsible thing, and a good way to bond with their babies.

Now she wishes she had put down the money to buy a Moobulator from Tweak so Jonas could take a turn.

"If I ever find those photographers in do pictures of this in soft lights... I'll stab them, so help me I will" She grumbles, then kisses her daughter's head, "Sorry, Dear. Didnae mean to sour the milk"

Brekke looks up from the scroll she's been going over. "It is not comfortable, I know, but try to relax. It will go easier."

"I AM rela..." She catches herself, then sighs "You're right, mir. Sorry." A gentle chuckle "Little Franklyn Lyric started out undersized so I think she's decided she has to make up for lost time."

"Hm. Greedy girl," she says with a hint of humor. "Aside from the discomfort, how is parenting today?"

"Well," She admits, "I have to say, not too bad. Piper has Valr Harper with her and Jonas... so unlike some I get to split the work. And she DID look adorable trying to eat her own foot"

"That is how infants stay alive. Appealing adorableness. I have a memory of you fast asleep, your legs curled under you and your bottom pointed towards the sky. You were not much older than this." She nods at the baby.

"Ha" A fond look at her little girl, "I might have been cute, but I bet Franki is cuter now than I was then" Almost sure of it "She's musical too... sort of. When she gets gas and I pat her little back, she burps almost like a tune. Or maybe I'm just imagining things. But I bet she has Piper's musical side." A beat "Though if she takes up an interest in tailoring, I might be grateful. If my breasts don't shrink back to their proper size after this I am going to have so many bras and more to replace" A worried look "They get back to normal, right?"

"...Somewhat."

"somewhat?" She blinks "SOME what?" Then looks at her daugther, then at her daughter's grandmother, then says "I'm gaining new appreciation for what I may have put you through even in my most innocent age"

"It may be a mercy that I have few memories of the worst of it," Brekke acknowledges. "Consider it an opportunity to obtain new clothing. And this reminds me...do you have clothes of larger sizes for them? They will need those soon enough."

She says "I think we have a few that are ready for them, thanks to Piper's mothers, but truth? I'm worried V&V didn't take into account troll blood which may kick in" Siv says "Now, Dame Anne Marie says she can whip me up a few things on a lark, but I hate taking advantage of her. And... well, I guess my answer to your question is 'we have some, not sure it is enough'"

Brekke nods. "Ask Anne Marie for one outfit for each child. It will make her happy but not overworked, and it will help you. I will help provide, as well, though likely through purchase rather than craft. Needlework is not my strength." A pause. "I do, though, have something for them both."

"you do?" Curious "Might I know now, or is this a surprise from their grandma?" A smile in her eyes as she uses that title

An amused twinkle to her eye at the name. "Simply a small bit of carving that may prove handy. I can give them to you now. They will help with teething, which comes soon enough." She rises and goes to get a box from a shelf. It is a little smaller than a shoe box, and simple. She moves to Siv and sits nearby. "As your hands are busy..." She opens the box and reveals....

Siv looks at the contents, craning to do so

...two wooden rattles, each one carved of a single piece of wood. The shapes of the ends are different -- one more circular and one more pyramidal. "You will want to remember whose is whose," she points out.

"For play. And put in the icebox for a short time, and the coolness with soothe the baby's gums as they teethe."

Siv 's eyes light up, and she smiles "Mir, this is... a wonderful gift for them... and, sounds like me as well. Aye. I... " She guides Franki "Say thank you to your Bestemor, Franki"

Franki looks adorable as a way of showing approval

The wood itself is light, so the babies are not being given juvenile cudgels.

And Franki then looks adorable... and drowsy

"Du er hjertelig velkommen, barnebarn," Brekke intones solemnly.

"Ah, a nap approaches, I think."

"I think so," She takes up her daughter "I'll put her in the spare crib. Unless you want the honor?"

((Note: I typed "granddaughter" but Google gave me the word for grandson. Already being misgendered!))

"I will take her," Brekke offers, and Siv suspects that her mother has been waiting for a chance to hold the baby for a while. "You also look as though you could rest," she says as she takes Franki and starts walking with her against a shoulder, a gentle rhythmic patting to encourage a burp.

"Thank you," And it IS true that she could use a nap herself, even as Siv does suspect her mom adores those moments when she can fuss over one or both of the babies in private.

The baby gives a burp, which does sound slightly musical

And soon, Grandmother Brekke is tucking her little grand daughter into the spare crib, after a bit of a private cuddle and care, while Mother Siv ends up drowing on the sofa for a bit of that 'nap'
