Brekke and Frank may or may not look around, but they'll find all patrols scheduled for the week without them. They'll find all tasks of collecting wood and equipment checks handled. It's beyond what just the Hearth does, the couple finds their usual work load... non existent!

Brekke feels a mix of satisfaction at the competence of her people, and dismay at being, momentarily, unnecessary.

Indeed, the Mountain has kept meticulous records of the patrols by Storm Pro Tem Dagmar ...and for that matter everyone else.

The Hearth is up to her usual level of quality work... and indeed, it seems like she had a lot of help

The stables have been recently cleaned and tended to !

Even the spare weapons and armor sets are at high polish!

It is...impressive.

Brekke finds herself looking for something to do.

Paperwork handled. Gear cleaned and stowed. Patrols.. full up. Uhm.. animals? Oh, fed and groomed and excercised

This is... a rare situation, at least, rare where the Chieftain wasn't a part of one of these things

"Jo Jo jo!" even JoJo has been given a proper scrubbing , at least on the exterior, and he sparkles

"Rivervale is well cared for," she observes to Frank.

"Mm." He agrees.

He might note that she says this with a somewhat restless gesture.

Frank reaches out with a hand to hers and touches.

She takes his hand, giving an apologetic half-grin.

He shakes his shaggy head. "Shall we... go somewhere?"

"You mean...more than a few hours on the Kestrel."

A slight bemused tone. "Jessica suggested we return to Renaissance and stay with Tweak."

Frank blinks, nonplussed.

"Mm." She agrees with his expression. "I cannot say it sounds pleasing."

"Then let's not."

"Agreed. But...where were you thinking?"

"We were going to go on vacation.... change of scenery?"

A pause. "It would not be kind to Dagmar, to shorten her tenure as Storm."

She seems persuadable.

"That is true."

In point of fact, it should be noted, that the couple have outstanding invitations , open ones, from numerous friends. The DeBuke farm is always happy to make room. Count Hemlock would welcome them at Caer Falken. Count Jude would set them up in his neck of Cali for a bit. Or... they might just pick their own path

"Then...a place we know? Or a place we do not know?"

And, of course, there's always Firnost. They could throw a blanket on that statue while there

"My Alaska." whispered.

A slight twinkle in her eyes, and her hand squeezes his. A quiet nod.

"Really?" a significant spark of interest.

Another nod. "A short visit."

"A week," she suggests.

"That would be.... good." Frank agrees.

"A week. Now?"

"We are already packed," she points out. "Though we will need more layers than we packed to visit Jessica."

At last, something the lodge didn't prep for and that the Couple can do for themselves! Cold Weather clothing would have to be pulled out!

"We could get things along the way. In the Rig."

Her turn to be nonplussed. "Not the Kestrel?" But it doesn't sound like a complaint.

"Either one." solidly; he's' good either way.

A brief pause. "The Rig would require more time. Two weeks."

"Mm."

"If you would rather take the Kestrel, I would be happy to go."

"Hush. Prepare the Rig. I will tell the Hearth." A squeeze of his hand again, and then she releases and heads for the kitchen for a word with the Hearth. ((And her player remembers belatedly to hit Send.))

Frank moves smartly to gather some travel clothes and such, supplies, a bag of coffee grounds, and goes to the Rig to be ready.
