The landline at the Lodge rings.

"I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT!"

It rings a couple of times before it's picked up. "King and Davidson residence, Kerri speaking."

Connor is running through the room and crashes into Kerri's legs.

Luckily, she is STURDY.

Kerri got there first, and she shushes Connor kindly.

"Oh." Mildly disappointed. Dagmar might have heard him in the background, though!

His ears prick! "HI DAGMAR!"

NOW she hears him.

"Dagmar? Why are you calling on this line?"

Another gentle shushing to the pooka.

"I don't have my phone, and I don't have everybody's numbers memorized. Who does that?"

"You don't have your phone? I thought it was stapled to your hand. What's up?"

"That's.. a whole story, which doesn't matter right now."

"Okay, so, I need some help? Some people need help, and I don't know if it's Frank or Ann Marie or both we're gonna need."

A muffled comment about... a kid? There's chatter on Dagmar's side of the line, a lot in SPanish.

Kerri's tone changes. "When, where, and how many?"

"Uh - last town was Cornwall Bridge, which, by the way, does not have a particularly remarkable bridge that I saw..."

"Um... 12 adults, but there's a kid still in the truck that they said they were getting." A faint growl there. "The assholes got the kid special fuckin' order"

"Cornwall Bridge..." she sounds like she's making a note.

"Bad guys out of the picture?"

Connor may realize the Swear Jar needs a nickel now for Dagmar's phone talk

"Connecticut."

"Um, I knocked them out. They'll need the ER, one's bleeding from his ears."

Kerri has the phone against her shoulder as she types the location name into her phone's map app.

Connor is silent, ears erect.

"Got the guns. They're tied up." Sounds of walking through brush.

A disgusted snort. "I'm not in a hurry to get him to an ER."

"Wait, you said a truck? Do you have the keys?"

"Uh. I need to check their pockets again..."

"Might be fastest to just drive them here. Then we can get them to Ann Marie."

"uh-huh..." Distracted.

"Dagmar?"

A frown.

Kerri can pick up snippets - she's got the phone in her hand, but not right by her mouth.

She stays quiet to listen to the exchange, but also texts Anne Marie.

TXT: A Dozen Muggles from CT? NOW?

TXT: Figure an hour, maybe two, if things go smoothly. Sorry.

TXT: Completely unexpected.

"Kerri, we're gonna look for keys..."

TXT: Any details for me?

"The kid might be kin."

"Okay," Kerri says. "Whose phone are you using?"

"I've alerted Ann Marie. Can you give me any other details?"

Connor leans against Kerri's legs.

"Pretty sure there's legal issues to handle - some were seeking asylum, they got promised work or were told the one was with the government. I don't know where they were taking them, but it's nowhere good. You want me to bring those two along, or leave them on the berm?"
