Sally Mae hmms then says with apology "Sorry, Dagmar. I'm just a bit vexed. Seems like lately, every time I am on the docket to do the cooking, no one shows up. Even when they said they would. I put out a spread, and... everyone finds other places to be, or things to do. Or I get ready to cook, and someone brings in food from another hold. I'm know Kerri cooks better than I do, but I didn't think I was that unpopular" A mmph "Carowyn says I'm being silly. Which irks me but then he maybe right which irks me more. Been a week of this. I'm about ready to head off to France and see if anyone notices"

She rubs the back of her neck. "Well, I bet Gerd could help you get to France, but then she'd also probably drop hints that folks should notice what's wrong."

"I like your dinners. Especially your stuffed peppers."

"Well, Gerd's been bringing food by for folks to try when she shows up randomly so I..." Then a smile , "You do? I worried the stuffed peppers had too much crunch"

Vali bends down to join Frank petting the dogs "I just feel like I'm missing something."

"Course I do. I always take seconds."

"I'd trust that instinct."

Vali nods "I'll see what I can do to get it out of her ... with love and all that. Or maybe Carowyn can fill me in"

"Looks like we're making stuffed peppers then" Sally mae smiles at Dagmar "Thanks, by the way. It's silly, but I think in the end, while no one wants to feel used, everyone wants to be useful. "

"Oh, yeah. THAT I totally get."

Frank nods, agreeing (for what it's worth) with Vali.

"Can I help? I can text Mom and see if the house wants to come over."

"That'd be wonderful," Sally Mae nods "And I'd love to have your help. Tell your mother she can take the day off food wise if you like?"

Vali seems to appreciate it. Not as much as Eddie did the ear rubs and pets. She has gotten comfy and gone to sleep. Oak wags, proud of his person looking after his sis

"Well." Frank lets the rumpling slow, and die off; nothing worse than a short, sharp rumple stop. "I should get up to bed."

"I think she'd appreciate the break."

She takes out her phone, tappity tap.

"Enjoy your rest, Frank" Vali nods

Frank nods, eases up to standing, and heads upstairs.... King of the Road.

"Nice to be appreciated" Sally Mae says. And of course, Dagmar's parents are delighted to come. It looks like Sally Mae will get to serve someone a real meal for the first time in a week. She was getting withdrawl

Dagmar, of course, gets yet more cooking practice. And will get Sally Mae's recipe for stuffed Peppers.

One thing Symon taught her, multiclassing can be very satisfying. Fourth level Bolt of the Storm? But at least one level Ember of the Hearth! Devious indeed!
