If Frank wanted to give Olgar the official decline, now's a good time

Olgar is washing his hands after doing some cleaning

Frank comes in from patrol via the kitchen where Olgar is washing up. He grunts a greeting.

Olgar grunts one back

"Talked with Brekke."

He waits his turn to wash up.

"Yeah?" Olgar is all ears

"Mm. I'm going to pass, but I appreciate the offer. It's a privilege to be asked. The Rovers do great work."

"We do" He nods "And understood. Sorry it didn't work for you, but you gotta be where you feel is right"

"Yes." he'll wash up when there's space.

There is... Olgar steps aside "Well, if you meet any other troll you think would fit, let me know"

"I will."

"Thanks" A nod . A beat "Thought about asking Siv. Sea travel is still travel"

"It is."

"But she's spread kind of thin right now" He ponders "Probably too thin. I think I'll drop by Jessica's place and see if any trolls in her area would go well. Want me to drop off anything for her ?"

"Appreciate the offer. Kerri might have something to send along. Otherwise, please give her my best."

"Will do" He nods

"Thank you." he dries his hands.

Olgar turns and walks off, getting ready for a trip to Fenix

And Frank heads into the main room of the Lodge.

His TBR stack is waiting, and a few letters to write to his House and brothers.

He finds Siv there rubbing her forehead at the Mountain desk

"Hello, Siv."

She looks up "Oh, hey Da. Sorry, just doing some 'pillar' work"

"Need a hand?"

"Actually, yes. I'm trying organize a full list of chimera in the area into a kind of system that's not too banal... but it's tedious, I mean, do I go alphabetical, by animal kingdom,, so on?"

"Animal kingdom might not apply to chimera." he points out "Not mortal definitions, anyway. You might need mythological or cryptological catagories."

"Alphabetical's fine, if there are names for the things you're listing."

"Why the interest?"

"Mountain Vali asked me to do it. I think he's interested since that menagerie thing that happened at Rutgers. Mom mentioned getting a tally/census of our chimera in this area, and it's kind of ballooned from there. Lore on the dreams and nightmares given form that we've all encountered"

"As for my interest.. .not so much" She says "I do like the sea monsters"

"Mm." He nods "I missed the menagerie thing. Your mother mentioned it, though."

"Anyway, I'm not sure I'm the best qualified for this, but ... I'm the one with the time, when the Spymaster doesn't need me, or I'm not on patrol ..."

"You'll do fine, Siv."

"I'm not sure I'm good at this." She admits "I have a lot of stories and lore thanks to you and mom... sure, and I've traveled enough to know a few things, but paperwork is a grind and I'm a bit slapdash for it. I like advanture... when Adam and I cured Jo Jo It was exciting. When I sail to another end of the world...it's cool as hell, but I'm not sure I'm disciplined enough to do this "

"You're not a sloppy sailor, Siv. You wouldn't allow anyone in your crew or on your ship to be sloppy. Come up with a system that works for Vali and Brekke, and stick to it. Eventually you'll be out there finding new chimera to add to the census."

She perks at that "Hey, that's true. Exploration would be a part of this, wouldn't it?"

"It would have to be."

Her eyes shine at the idea "I like that, a lot. Well, here, you work with me on the indexing, or if you prefer, you handle the 'danger level' assignments"

"I'm fine with indexing. What system are you using?"

"I'll go with alphabetical. It's not perfect but judging chhimera classifications seems redundant"

"Could cross reference. Alphabetical by zoo-or-crypto-ology."

"Mmm, okay, more detailed than just one or the other" A nod "Thanks for the help with this by the by"

"Welcome." He gets paper and pen to start taking notes and settles in, but not at the desk chair. "What do you have so far?"

She shows him, some of the references are ones he may not have heard of, mostly types of sea chimera in that department, but others listed are more landbound. She clearly is well traveled, and as a traveler himself he might be pleased by the breadth of her knowlege in some areas. "These are the ones that I've got done except for the indexing proper. I tried drawing some of them, but I'm no Earl DeBuke"

"Nor does anyone expect you to be. Hm. Yes, I can work with this." He pokes around and finds a ledger, and gets index cards from a drawer "I'll get to work with your materials, here. If I put them in the ledger, can you put them on index cards?"

"Sure thing!" She smiles

And she enjoys working with her dad as they get this done...together
