"He doubled-down, right? Said you just didn't understand her and stuff?"

"Ohhh."

Siv nods with Sylvi "And he got mad at you for daring to say such things"

Gerd blinks "Yeah, he tore me one for trying to help him"

"Welcome to the club. We should make t-shirts."

Siv nods "The phrase 'fool for love' sounds terribly romantic, and I say that as a Fiona, but there's a dark literalism to it too. Folks tend to be blind to the flaws of that which they desire. Real Love grows when you...well, I best not get started. Fiona and all"

"Mmph." A faint frown, and she starts putting away dry dishes.

"Mmph?" Sylvi inquires. "What's Mmph, Dagmar?"

Shrug.

"It's okay, Dagmar. I know my House gets a bit uber focused on it. " Figuring that's whati t's about

"Fiona do the love thing, bet they have lots of philosophy and stuff about it. Like Gwydions and Honor."

"And then there's House Do-The-Right-Thing," Sylvi says, her tone a little bitter.

"It's the house obsession" Siv says "And we're hardly united in the view. I...." then she turns at Sylvi's comment, the touch bitter "Okay. Sylvi. You're home and among friends. What's biting?"

Brow.

"Yeah" Gerd says to Sylvi "Sylvi, what's up?"

"Huh?" She looks around at them, then mutters, "Crap, that was my outside voice." A sigh. "Just...y'know..." A pause. "Don't get the wrong idea from me asking, but I just want to ask...do you know how Colton's doing, Gerd?" An embarrassed expression.

"You mad he didn't fight for you?" She hazards.

Gerd says "Actually. Yes. Uhm.. thanks to my boyfriend I got some inside details"

"Huh? No! Oh, man, no." She shakes her head. "It's just...we were together for a while, and I feel like I can't ask about him at all without people making it something it isn't, but I do want to know if he's okay or not." She nods for Gerd to continue.

Gerd says "He's kind of withdrawn, he's superfocused on his duty. He's not dating any other girls, but he's also not talking about you pro or con. He... kind of chckened out"

"That's not what I wanted for him," she mutters.

"Mmph. Liams."

Gerd says "Wudlig says he was supposed to show up at that after pennons thing with the horses and dogs... and then he found out you were showing up and he said he had to hold to his promise to give you room"

"It is the Liam thing, isn't it? Uncle Frank does it, too, y'know? When he's upset, he just gets real quiet."

Siv winces "And withdraws like a damn turtle in the shell"

"Might just be trolls."

"I'm sorry, if this news is... sorry" Gerd looks sheepish

"No, it's okay. I asked." She gives Siv a thoughtful look. "Don't suppose you could do the Fiona thing, encourage him to...y'know...get out there again?"

A contemplative tilt at the corners of her mouth, not really a frown. Drying the second round of dishes.

"Maybe send girls his way? Like... different ones, so he doesn't get too reminded of Sylvi?"

A grateful look to Dagmar.

Siv ponders "In my experience, sometimes Fiona get disregarded because of our House. somewhat self inflicted i know. But if you really want... but ah... you sure it's over between you two for good? I mean, you understand if he lucks onto the right girl and that right girl isn't you? " She lets it hang "I'm not assuming. I want to let you know what the outcomes might be"

"I don't know if it's over. But I don't want him to be just killing time for a year. And I don't want the decision to be based entirely on what I do in that time. He needs to know what he wants...and if he decides it's somebody else...well, that's what it is."

Siv nods "Pretty brave, House Do the Right thing" Siv says it with respect "Aye. He should abide by this even on both sides and that means seeing others" A nod to Dagmar "Yeah, I know some girls who would really like him"

"Cool girls? Not bitches, right?" Protective.

Siv gives a side eye at that "As far as I know, you want him to be happy... so not bitches"

"Yeah. Sorry, of course you wouldn't throw anybody at him that would hurt him."

Siv pats her shoulder "Not intentionally... yeah. I will get right on it. Now, let's help Dagmar with these dishes"

Shrug. "Just because you break up with someone doesn't mean you want them hurt or unhappy."

"Exactly."

Gerd changes the subject "Okay.. about left overs..."
