Olgar looks tired. He gets himself a cup of coffee

"Trods are working.. in case anyone is around to care" Grumble

A thought, and a bit of Irish goes into the coffee as his feet go up.

And Echo sits by his side

A moment or two later, Kerri emerges from the kitchen bearing a plate with a large piece of peach pie, and a fork. "I hear that somebody's been working very hard and deserves a treat," she says with a teasing grin.

"Somebody has a new recruit, lord knows we need em, but Eulalie DeBuke wanted to crawl into my skull and get all the lessons. She'll be fine at it, but between that and the trod work ... been a day" He sniffs at the pie, "ANd I do deserve a treat. Join me?"

"Oh, I'm glad she's going to work out." She sets the pie down in front of him and takes a seat next to him. "Hey, Echo," she says, giving the dog some ear woogies.

Hee wags happily, Echo that is, not Olgar, though Olgar doesn't look unhappy as he takes the pie. "I heard Gerd is already whisking to Starbear. But plans to pop back a bit more often during the visit. Wilders gottta wild. Speaking of them, any word from our daughter about things? "

Kerri pauses just a moment before saying, "Try the pie and tell me what you think." Nope, she's not answering that question, yet.

"Oh boy" He tries the pie, "mmm delicious as always, but a touch different. You experimenting with a new crust?"

Whiel he wouldn't CALL himself a foodie, he has learned to show an interest in his wife's cooking beyond mere 'meh' 'okay' 'good' 'delicious'

"Well, I'll confess, Marseillus does come up with some interesting ideas. Not sure how I feel about that crust yet, but it was worth a try."

"It's not bad," He savors "I think it'll depend on texture preference? More fluff less flake in this one? It's delicious either way"

She looks pleased. "You are a wonderful husband. Makes me wonder if I should start learning nuanced trod terminology."

"I kind of want to put up large Chimerical billboards that say 'STAY ON THE SILVER! YEAH I MEAN YOU! NO, NO EXCEPTIONS' ... compared to folks who really need that, you're a Rover yourself" A kiss if she gets in reach "Now about the Daughter situation which you seem to be delaying?"

She takes the kiss and returns it, and then says gently, "You're going to want to go talk to her soon. She and Colton broke up."

"awww.." He winces "I'm not gonna lie and say I knew it would happen, but at the same time I'm not .. you know, surprised? Do you know the details? Who dumped who and all that? Changes the kind of support to offer"

"Well, as I understand it...." she pauses to steal a bite of the pie "...Sylvi was feeling as if she was being expected to settle down to a permanent relationship, and she says she's not ready for that. Colton's taking it about as well as one might expect. Apparently they're going to revisit things in a year or so."

She ponders adding a bit of flavoring to the crust itself, maybe fluff would hold the flavor diferently than flaked... mmm might be able to talk Marsellies at his own game

And he munches after she does "Oh that... huuh, I think it'll bite him in the ass, but... good man to recognize her need to see where she stands. Our daughter's going to have a lot of guys, and some girls, hitting on her at college. Well, save the ones scared by tall women." He ponders "Yeah, Sylvi needs us to offer support without being pushy on it. I DO Hope she focuses on grades, but ... that's never been what she's all about"

"No, but she's never been a complete slouch, either. Now...what do you mean about it biting him in the ass?" She steals a sip of his coffee and barely blinks as she realizes it's been doctored.

A Smirk at her stealing his drink "Thanks for keeping it warm for me" Then he says "That he's got a good chance of having that year extend into a 'let's be friends'. Now that's no crime, friendship is a gift, but it can sure sting for either. "

She swirls his drink for a moment thoughtfully before handing it back to him. "It's her privilege. It was mine, too. It doesn't mean there's no chance somewhere down the line. And whose to say he won't discover that it's the right choice to be apart?"

"It might be, and he might discover love with someone else" He takes the drink back "Sorry, wasn't trying to pigeonhole either of them."

"No, of course not. But...I still think a year might be too soon to expect Sylvi to even consider a permanent committment. After all...she's our kid. It took us a while."

"Ha, boy did it." A grin "I was not too bright. At first I Thought I only wanted you because you were , well, the tallest glass of sex appeal around. Turned out it had a lot more to do with how you called me on my bullshit and gave me a chance anyway"

She smirks and hands him back his drink. "Meanwhile, I thought you were just a bad boy that I found darkly irresistable. Then you had to go and be all complex and attentive about my feelings. Fiend."

"All part of my cunning plan" He assures her, "There are times I worry I've lost my bad boy appeal. Responsible dad, working man, heck, Dog owner..." A look at Echo "no offense" /Echo just looks at them both adoringly/Olgar goes on "Should I knock over a liquor store just to regain some bonefides?"

She trails her fingers over his forearm, tickling the hairs there. "I don't need you to be a bad boy. And you're still plenty intimidating, which means you can be all those other things and people still won't give you crap. Nope...you're mine, buddy boy, so don't go messing with a good formula."

"Heh... well, gosh, if that is to be my fate" He slides a hand free to run along her hip, "Then so be it. "

She grins and leans in to give him a light kiss. "I'm thinking..." another kiss "...that we should probably exercise our fate."

mmm "Well, I was tired" A kiss back, light "but suddenly I'm feeling a second wind. " A wicked look "any idea how to keep it going?" He sets the cup down.. on a coaster

"Hmm..." She gets up and takes his hand to draw him up as well. "Let me give it some thought. Bring your plate to the kitchen?"

"This is my plate" He picks it up "But you are a dish" And he does take it to the kitchen

"Ohhhhh, I should punish you for that one."

She winks.

"Lot of options " playful "Let's go to our room and consider them"

Dish and mug put away, he loops an arm about her and moves with her towards their door

"Oh, we should definitely give this deep consideration," she says with a nod and a smile. And they vanish into their room.

Echo realizes he is NOT getting into that room as the door closes with him on the other side.
