That's Nabuni. he never knew the chimera WEll, but ... it's Nab's mortal doppelganger

His lip curls back a little in distaste. A glance over at Vali to see if he sees that same thing he does.

"So... THAT happened" mutters Vali.

"What do you see?" Symon asks, his voice carefully bland.

"A mortal girl who looks very much like a dream"

"Riiiight." Dryly. "I'm sure it's a coincidence. Thoughts?"

"I really wish someone had agreed to be my squire when I hinted at a gentler road for him a long time ago, but the moment passed and I had to watch the suffering commence" Vali sighs

"I meant about the, uh, girl."

"So do I" an odd tone

"Pardon me.." he focuses "I think someone's quest has either gone awry or is gathering steam"

"What does it mean, though? Yeah, I remember. What's her name. Adam's RealDoll chimera. The question is, how the hell is she a mortal?"

"If I had the answer I'd tell you. I can tell that Adam became a sidhe, Nab became a sword, and something went wrong at the saining. Arguably this all started long before then, but that was the last news I got. Adam went on a quest to the Dreaming to get his lady love.. Nab, back. And before you ask, I have a friend there, A Beaumayn knight who kept tabs on him for me as long as it idnd't be tray the hold"

"I can't say that there is any obvious answer, or if there is, I'm a moron and not seeing it. But it sure looks like... damnit, if she was here, I'd ken to try to see for certain.

Is she a more powerful Chimera than anyone suspected, and able to pass, wyrded, amongst mortals?
Has she somehow found a wyrded... husk, I think the inanimae call it?
Or has she somehow managed to take on the Changeling Way? That girl isn't young. Adam's not been gone nearly enough to account for a true changeling rebirth. She's a dream dreamt by a Sidhe. Maybe she found a way to body-jack some unlucky girl."

"Let's hope not the last, but there's one more option you may not be considering"

A brow up, and he listens.

"What... Adam gender-swapped and melded with his chimera and made.. whatever that is?"

"Possible... or maybe he or someone else became dream so she could become flesh. The Dreaming is big on trades"

Taken aback. "Why would.... no. I guess I see why he would. But.. someone else?" His eyes narrow. "If he traded someone else to the dreaming so she gets flesh... how is that any different from body-jacking? Different process, maybe, but the same end product."

"You're a lot more ethical than you let most folks know" Vali notices but nods "And you're right. it would be.. questionable. More so in fact as some arcadian sidhe claim they didn't get much control over anything until they arrived."

He shrugs. "If it was a member of my family? I might think differently. Then again, I'd be sure not to get caught." His whisper cool and dry, hard to tell if he is joking or not.

"Family... mmm"

Symon's eyes narrow a bit.

He taps on the frame of the painting. "Anyway. I don't remember her being much use at anything other than... whatever. I might remember if she'd been an artist. There's still a mystery here that I care more about."

"Symon, you've shared with me. I'm gonna share with you. " A beat "lily is in danger.. and not physical danger"

Symon goes still - the cold, calculating motionlessness of a snake considering a strike "Explain."

'I wish I could... but remmeber, none of the thomas came upon their ..fae natures, in the typical way. Clearly things are in flux. Before this is done, Nab may not be the onlyone to lose her dreaming side"

"Is this a vision, or do you know more about what's going on, that you're not letting on?"

"the two are not mutually exclusive. ' he says "But I am not in the habit of putting children at risk . I just know that she's bound up with her brother, and if Nab is suddenly human, then Lily is also in Fate's and chance's mutual cross hairs"

"So whatever Adam is up to in the dreaming is putting his family at risk now? I didn't think he was that selfish." A scowl. "Maybe not surprised."

"Let's not jump to THAT conclusion . Not just yet"

Brow up. "Would you be surprised? Everyone heard about his saining. He was ready to declare a fatwa on willworkers, and the rest of us be damned if we're hit by the fallout. Or when he messed with Dagmar? It was always about Adam first."

"He had a past history with mages. Not that excuses everything" A sigh "And one thing he stood by always was protecting Lily"

"Yeah, well, he's not here now. I'm not letting anything happen to her."

"I kind of figured" He nods understanding "trolls do not get a monopoly on looking after folks they care about"

"No." He says, shortly. "What do you think she's in danger of, if not something physical?"

"Her place in our world' A shrug

"And who would dare take it from her?"

"Symon, I don't have to be a master soothsayer to know you do not FUCK Da'an... you wine her, dine her, leave her delighted, and only then do you dime and dash leaving her with the food bill"

His eyes narrow. "I'm not courting anyone to politely request the pleasure of Lily's company. If Da'an in playing games with her soul in the balance, then I'm not playing by the rules."

a more serious look "Symon, monkey paw is like a glimpse of what goes wrong when you try to brute force the system. I"m not saying she can't be helped. I wouldn't torture you like that. I' msaying the rules need to be loopholed, not lamponed, or you could end up putting her and yourself in a very ugly hell"
