the door lock gives her more trouble than she expected. They need to watch out for corrosion, she decides, then unlocks the door

She finds herself face to face with a stoic, splotchy, less than year old dog that's already WAY too big

Signe's fangs come out, and she gives a low warning growl

"Why Miss Kerri, I've caught you on a bad hair day," Rikki flutters her lashes "It's okay, see. I have permission to check on the supplies here..."

Fangs still waiting.

"Kujo... sit" Rikki tries

but as Rikki tries to extend her foot just a bit deeper in the kitchen, the growling gets louder.

She slides it back, the growling gets only a little softer

"Okay, how about I get you a treat. Cut you in for ten percent of the grub that I'm sneaking to GOldfinch and..."

Well THAT insult to her canine honor is just too much for Grimpaw to take, she BARKS and wuffs a furious storm between threatening snarls

And Rikki realizes her 'stealth kitchen raid' is shot "Okay okay!"

and she retreats.. SIgne chasing her off the property

before the pup returns alone with a satisfied look and repositioning herself at the entrance to the kitchen door which is still a bit ajar
