Siv looks shaken when she gets the news

"Da, the funeral... do you and mom want me to go, or should I stay here?"

"Mm." He rumbles. "Not for me to say, Siv. It's a DeBuke invite."

Piper gives Siv's hand a reassuring squeeze. "Do you want time to talk to your dad? I can go rustle up a snack."

"Oh it's fine, Piper I just... " She looks poleaxed "It's so weird" She tells them both "I've never seen a changeling ACTUALLY get so banal as to be undone by time. I hear about it but i never..."

"I think their tradition is beautiful. Almost satyr-like." Praise!

Frank nods.

Siv smiles at Piper "Is kind of like the ...tragadocy.. I can't pronounce it. One last dance"

"Tra-goi-dia." She smiles back. "A final song."

"Tra-la la la goy dia!" Siv nods as if sure she got it that time

A laugh and nod.

Frank puts an index finger in this book gently, to hold his place. "Mountain might have some guidance, some thoughts, if you have questions."

"Yeah, that makes more sense looking at it that way" Siv nods to Piper, then a look at her dad, "Dad, I know he's the Mountain now, but it's not like you stopped being wise and knowing"

"There's a fault in your underlying assumption, there, Siv." not without amusement "But thank you for it. Regardless, in this situation, it's the Mountain's area."

"This is just a guess, seein' as how I never had one of my own... but some questions might be for mountains, and some might be for dads." A smile.

"See?" She says to Piper "I'm always going to need dad answers too. Even if I hate to admit it"

SIv does admit "Well, I guess if I go I should get a gift for the family. "

"Has anyone ever catalogued Mrs. Agnes's recipes into a book? So that they're not lost with her?" Piper asks curiously. "She might be fading, but even a mortal Agnes could write down - or dictate - that kind of stuff..."

"I've only met her a handful of times, but she seemed as proud of her recipes and kitchen as our Hearth Kerri."

"Kourtney has it" She says 'the big book of reciepes go to her as the new Hearth. Geez, talk about huge shoes to fill. Cullinary Ronin or no"

She nods. "That's good - she made these squash fritters once - fantastic."

Siv nods "DeBukes know their squash. You have to be careful, walk through there and you get a bag of zucchini or something just for saying hello"

"If you like, Brekke and I are planning to bring something from the Lodge. Could go in on that."

"Happy to help with it" Siv says "Thank you, Da"

"I -like- Zucchini." She grins.

"Welcome."

Siv smirks "It's fine in small doses. You're the only one I know who would eat a pyramid of the stuff"

Frank sips his (cooling) second (and final) coffee cup of the day.

"Speaking of which, has Jack started up a garden yet this year? He was going on about some sort of cherry tomatoes he was really excited about last time I saw the kid."

"Weird for a kid to be so excited about vegetables... but hey, passion hits where it hits."

"It does, and yeah it's actually coming in grand. The garden around thier house is huge"

"Indeed. He's a good lad."

"You know, If you give him the seeds he'll probably grow it for you" Siv says

"Ooooh. I have been missing the fresh Cali produce. Strawberries here just don't taste the same. But I bet if anyone could grow something almost as good as the Pacific sun, it would be Jack."

"Hey, Jersey is the GARDEN state" siv points out "Sure, NYC treats us like their garbage dump, but we cal lthat fertilizer"

Sip.

"Buuut we'll try to get you some Cali berries"

A beam! "I'll get some heirloom seeds from my moms for Jack to try his hand at here."

Siv makes a mental note to pop up at a Cali , buy a lot of local strawberries, and bring them back. It'll be a great surprise

"I think they'll love to help"

Sip.

Siv asks "Dad? The farmhold is going to be very different at this rate isn't it? Chief Clem is relatively new. Murray hasn't been storm THAT Long, and now a new Hearth."

Frank nods. "Could be."

Piper's phone beeps a reminder. "Oh, I have a student coming by Goldfinch for a lesson." She stands on tip toes and waits for Siv to lean down so she can give her a smooch on the cheek. "Catch you later?"

Siv bends down and then returns it "Absolutely. Later, sweetness"

Siv watches Piper go then turns to her dad "She's really become quite the little muser" Proud

"A benefit and a strength to Rivervale."

Siv almost beams at that "Yes. Quite so." She says "Pardon me , Dad. I need to use the Narwhal to hit California and buy some strawberries"

"Of course." He finishes his coffee and looks back to his book.

She gives her father a quick hug, and heads out
