Olgar greets her "How'd it go?"

"He's married to a woman named Merri. I'm getting more tempted to let you take that swing at him."

She recounts the meeting for him. "I'm not sure...I think I might have shown my hand too soon. But it would be worse if she made the connection later and decided I'd been hiding it from her."

"Merri? Oh kaay... we in cuckoo town"

"Honestly, she seems to be a very lovely woman."

"Some guys marry up. I know I did" A healthy leer

She grins and says, "Oh, you're working on having a VERY good evening."

"Sounds like you deserve one yourself" He hands her a coffee with one hand, and wraps an arm around her side with the other "Okay, Merri is nice. Paul is apparently bitter over rejection though. You realize Merri might talk to him about your visit? If some stranger came up acting freaked about something in your past I'd at least ask or mention"

"Actually, I'm kind of counting on it." She leans into him and sips the coffee before continuing.

A curious brow lift

"I think it's going to go something like this...." She alters between voices for the rest. "Honey, I had a visitor today. Oh, really? Anybody I know? Well, funny you should ask. It was Kerri Davidson, looking to see if I would join the PTA."

She pauses. "I picture he'd be stunned silent for a little bit."

"No doubt" Amused

Then she's back to the voices. " The PTA? Yes, and we got to talking. She says you have your daughter in your class. Hm, yes, and she's a little...something something... " Kerri edits that part. "Just like her mother."

"Thank you for considering my delicate feelings in that edit"

"Oh, really? Because I thought she seemed really very nice."

She pats his arm comfortingly. "Where it goes from there, I don't know, but it sets him up to be undermined by her while he also wonders what else she knows about me."

"And he might reveal more to her about how petty he's being. Who knows, maybe he'll surprise us , check himself, and make things right." He sounds dubious on that

"It's a long-shot...but I hope so. If not, it's in girl-child's court."

He looks her over, "Well, look at us being all rational and stepping back here. I mean, I was good for not going neanderthal... yay, a cookie for me. There you are, ready to let Sylvi play through despite mama bear instincts." A smile "Big damn heroes, huh?"

"This is the part that sucks, yeah."

The arm goes around her waist "It does. But she did have the trust to text us, let us know. That's something a lot of parents don't have."

"You don't think that means she's in over her head, do you?"

"I think she hit a wall on WHYS, and now , we know why. At least part of why."

"Guy sure hates the 'new media'" A snort

"Right. Oh, telling her is not going to be fun."

"Well, we can do it together" he nods

"Speaking of things we can do together..." A look towards their room "A very good evening you said earlier?"

"Oh, I did suggest that, didn't I?" she says, leading the way with a sway to her hips.

"I LIKE your suggestions" He follows...
