the day after Carnival at Rivervale is...recovery time. Sore feet, hangovers (though rare wih this crowd), or just sleeping off food highs

Indeed, breakfast is a large basket full of bagels and fixings from a local shop. Kerri often arranges this for the day after a celebration, especially the more raucous ones.

Frank pads down, pours a cup of joe, and starts fixing a toasted bagel.

Kerri isn't currently visible. Yes, very likely in hangover-recovery zone.

Brekke follows Frank downstairs after a few minutes, dressed for patrol but not out as early as she might be in normal circumstances.

Frank has been fixing bagels for two.

Gerd serves coffee

She was about to fetch coffee for both of them, but Gerd is already on it. "Thank you, Gerd," she says, accepting the coffees. "Did you enjoy Carnivale?"

Gerd smiles "Wudlig and I had a fight, but... then it got.. nice? Is.. is that weird?"

Frank's spreader knife stutters across a bagel, but no one notices. He toasts some more bread.

A brow. "A fight? I...do not know if that is 'weird.' But I am glad that all is well, now." She moves to bring Frank's coffee to him, putting it near him on the table.

He puts a few bagel offerings down near her.

"Well, we argued" gerd says "I.. think we ended up communicatinngg"

Brekke accepts the exchange of bagel/coffee offerings with a slight grin. She takes hers and settles in her chair by the balefire to enjoy.

"An argument is sometimes necessary for communication to happen. I hope it was not too angry of an argument."

"No, I mean, He's a nocker... pretty reserved ffor one, but he still gets riled... I'm more stoic but I get riled on the innside bu... we kind of worked it out yes. " A nod "Oh, and we went flyinn. It was very nnice"

"Flying? Cantrip?"

"Yup" A smile " Windrunner on the wo of us"

"Oh..." Gerd ponders "Chieftain, am I nneeded here next weekend?"

Brekke considers the question. "Not to my knowledge, although you should also check with the Hearth. Where do you plan to be?"

"I'll be questing for at least one Phoenix feather" she doesn't bother to hide it

"Questing? At whose request?"

"It's my own choice. Witchy rrrelated"

"Why, did you want one for the lodge if I can get two or more?"

Bemused. "I certainly would not say no to such, but I have no particular purpose in mind for a Phoenix feather."

"Wands mostly, Potter inspired dreams.. but there are other uses" She smiles "I'll ask the Hearth"

A slightly-curious look at the other uses comment...but then she decides she's better off not asking. "That would be wise."

"I have a few of those moments." She says

"More than unwise, in my observation." She sips her coffee.

"thanks. I ...sometimes wonder, but as a wilder I get more of a pass than most"

"A pass?" She considers a moment. "Your behavior has been growing ever more responsible. Perhaps that is not the same as 'wise' but I value it."

A light blush. "thanks . Oh, I'll be handling the meals today until Sally Mae recovers"

A blink. "Recovers? More than a hangover?"

Gerd nods "She got cursed last night. Waitinng for ittt to wear off. Some guys idea of a prank"

Brekke's eyes get wide. She sets down her coffee abruptly and stands from her chair. "Where is she? What curse?" Gwydion anger brewing quickly.

"Her house... that nice one she bought? And.. I don't know."

"Hm." She has finished her breakfast and turns to Frank, "I must go and check on her."

"Okay, but watch out forr Sir Carowyn... he's.. tthis tempted to hunt the curserr down, but you can't, of course. No revenge forr Carnival actions"

She seems about ready to take some pretty serious vengeance herself, but...Gerd provides a good reality check. A deep breath. "Yes. Of course. But...I will check on her."

"I will return," she says to Frank, and then departs for SallyMae's.

Later....

Brekke has returned, and Kerri? Kerri wakes up..and gets the bad news

Kerri may not be hungover at this point, but she's certainly not happy. "Why on earth would somebody curse her? Is it...is it because she's kinain, or is somebody just being mean-spirited in general?"

Brekke shakes her head. "I do not know. I did not ask that. I did ask who cursed her, but she will not tell me."

"Probably a good thing," Kerri mutters, putting together a care package for Sally Mae.

"Has Carowyn been here?" Brekke asks.

Kerri shakes her head, then wishes she hadn't. "Mmph. Not that I've seen. Oh, he must be on the warpath, too."

Gerd works on dishes "He was pissed. Went to Vali for omens"

Brekke looks to Gerd. "You did not mention this earlier."
