Brekke probably doesn't want to demonstrate her clumsy texting to Aiden.

"I will check." A nod, and she steps away.

"I understand that a Rover's duties may take him on paths far from home. If he is not readily available, I can return."

Brekke nods. "That may be necessary, but let us see if he is nearby. While we wait, tell me, Baroness Nadeen is well?"

His expression lights up. "She is well" A political answer, but extended to, "Not a day goes by that she does not remind me, in word or deed, how blessed Silverwolf is to have her. That I am to have her as my lady."

Soon, Olgar can be heard "Dags? what did you want?"

A slight grin can't be hidden. "I am gratified to hear this. Ah..." as Olgar appears. "Rover. Do you have a few minutes to speak?"

The visiting baron nods politely to Olgar, granting him the same level of courteous greeting as he would a Knight.

the blight faced unseelie waves it off "None of that for me, I work for a living, knight of the way or no. We got trouble, Chief?"

"No trouble. Baron Aiden has a suggestion regarding the trods, and I think it would be beneficial, but we need your expertise."

"Mmm suggestion? Okay. What's the pitch?"

"Baron?" She invites him to explain.

He repeats the request, and the reasoning. "Would such a thing be possible?"

"I would, of course, offer compensation commensurate to your trouble."

A frrown "Sometimes you run into trod dead zones" he says, recalling with frusttration how Goldfinch seems to spurn silver intrusion "But I set the first one up.. I should be able to tie another to it. It'll be draining. I maybe out or a day or two... "

He brings up, as if a casual conversation point, "Would a device that can detect and alert to the presence of Thallain be something that you might be interested in, Rover?"

A blink at Aiden's suggestion. She might be silently urging Olgar to make the deal!

"As of yet, we have only tested and proven concept with a Spriggan, who was thusly foiled at a kinain abduction attempt. However, I feel confident that our craftsman can extend the functionality, with time and proper materials. We have the most promising fledge." Pride nearly radiating.

"Oh that stuff... " Olgar doesn't seem too interested "we troll lodges have lots of elder dark thallian stuff already as a rule.. but I admit your thingee might save time"

Brekke is glad that Olgar is doing the bargaining. She might have jumped too quickly at that offer.

Olgar IS more interested than he's trying tto show. But .. there is a seriousness to his talk of elder dark countermeasures which may surprise Aiden as well. He wants it though

A brow lifts delicately, but he simply shrugs. "Dross, mortal funds, or an equivalent boon I may also offer in return."

"How about the alarm, and you bump up our 'third pick' from the litter for RV to Second?" Olgar says "DeBukes getting first. I got that right, Chief?"

"Hm." Brekke seems to be considering the idea, but she watches Aiden's reaction.

He frowns, shaking his head slowly. "I cannot agree to that. For a breed we are trying to establish as strong and true, it is already a blow to have lost the first pick."

He counters, expounding on the sensor, "As to the Alarm, note that the tracking ends function in mortal locations, as long as recharged periodically. They do not need to be within the boundary of a freehold to function. In that way, they are more flexible than a normal Ward, and may be placed to protect kin or family that live outside of the barony.

That, plus twice the equivalent dross to match the cost of your work."

A scratch of his chin.

He looks to the Chief

A brow to Olgar. "This seems reasonable to me."

"It's nocker tech.. not to be rude, but what's tthe glitch?"

"A fair question. I have had...interesting nocker armor."

"The alarm beacon, tailored as it was to track a Spriggan, was accompanied by a rather distinct... odor. While unpleasant, it was also, at the same time, unmistakable."

"Hm. Does the scent dissipate?"

A snort "Wait, it farts? My wife can make tarts that do that, cheap"

"It does, with elbow grease. One might also have the wisdom to install it... outside, or there may be ways to adjust the alert mechanism. It was, at the time, only a prototype. We have since seen interest with other Baronies as well."

Brekke frowns at this explanation, but looks to Olgar, an inquiring eyebrow.

"Mmm the alarms, twice the dross to match the cost of my work and some moolah to help our youth with college. No free ride, but payment for textbooks"

"I would agree with this."

"One Alarm with up to three tracking beacons, the promised dross, and funds to cover textbooks for up to 3 students for a 4 year collegiate experience." He clarifies, offering a hand to Olgar to shake if the deal is agreed upon.

A look to the Chief "Seems solid. you good with that, Chief? I'm gonna be tapped for a bit afer but I can get it up before Imbolc"

"I think it is a reasonable investment for the benefits."

Olgar shakes the Ailil's hand "Aiden, you got a deal."

A firm shake, even if his hand is dwarfed in Olgar's mitt. "Much obliged to do business with you, Rover Olgar."

Aiden looks well pleased with himself.

Brekke raises a brow, and also offers a hand to Aiden. "Baron, I think this will be a good development. Thank you for the suggestion."

"You go inside, you two. my wife will want to feed folks and give you a basket to take home, Baron. I'll get started surveying the options now"

A bemused look at Olgar, then a nod to Aiden. "Yes, come, have refreshment."

He shakes her hand as well. "I will work out the details on the detector with our craftswoman. It may take time, but I am confident she will be able to reproduce and improve the design."

"Mischka-" He starts to call the dog, then shakes his head. "Never mind, enjoy your visit. Yes, thank you - refreshments would be welcome, and I would be a fool to turn down anything from Hearth Kerri's kitchen."

And the Baron and Chieftain are shooed inside the lodge where Dagmar waits... and Kerri can set them up. While Olgar gets to his task

And two dogs enjoy break time too
