The liquor cabinet is stocked with Jagermiester, and odd jobs have been finished all around the lodge. A loose board in the stable roof renailed, a squeaky hinge on a door oiled and so on

6 cans of Spam
5 flannel shirts
4 big mud tires
3 shotgun shells
2 huntin' dogs
And some parts to a Mustang GT"

The Clurichain has a nice voice, even if the song is.. eerr ah yeah

And of course, there's been patrolling; Dutch has seen Rivervale!

Kerri overhears the song, and gives a bit of a grin. He's going to teach that to Olgar, and we'll be hearing it every Yule, I just know it.

Brekke's own reaction is a curious raised brow, but otherwise she does her best to ignore the lyrics.

She, of course, has been introduced to Dutch by now.

"Your help with patrols is appreciated," she says to the Clurichaun.

Dutch turns to "We aim to please, Chief. I think I got that stable leak plugged solid but you'll still want to give it a look see next hard rain"

"My thanks," she says with a nod. "What word on the repairs to your truck?"

"I'm sad to say It maybe done before yule meaning I won't be able to infringe on you good folks any further. I forgot what i was like to relax for the holidays"

Olgar snorts "You've been busting your ass since you got here, Dutch. Not sure how relaxed that is."

Brekke grins and nods. "I understand. Some work is refreshing."

Dutch smiles "And I take my hours over good drink with good company. I like bending elbows with Rigger by the fire. He doesn't take offense when I monopolize the chatter"

Another nod -- she knows this about Frank, how he often prefers listening over speaking.

"If you wish to stay for Yule, you are welcome to do so, Dutch."

"Got to finish the job, but who knows? Might be able to do it fast enough to drop by for part of your Yule, and much obliged"

"You can teach me that song later," Olgar points out

"Oh, joy." Kerri rolls her eyes good naturedly.

Olgar grins fangily at his wife

"Dutch, where is home, if I may ask?" Brekke looks curious.

Familiar footsteps on the gravel path leading up to the Lodge.

"Oh my truck is my regular home. I've got a cabin in Michigan I park it at most often, though the new land lord is trying to jack up rent"

Brekke nods. "The landlord is mortal?" Then she looks over to the door at the sound of footsteps, and goes to pour a cider, shaking her head when Kerri offers to do it.

"He is, I get letters and emails pushingg..." A mmmphh

Oak wags

"But nevermind him. Tempted as I am to punch him in the face not my property"

Brekke assumes that Frank must have paused outside to check on something. She turns back to Dutch. "I understand there are mortal laws limiting what landlords can do, given the current situation. I do not know if your landlord is adhering to those. Hm." A thoughtful frown.

"Who can say? I'm on the road enough I can't really go to the local authorities annd make much of a fuss"

She reflects on whether she knows what fae courts are powerful in Michigan.

The door opens and sure enough, Frank enters.

He pauses just a moment to take in the full house, and then nods. "Evening." (it is, just barely).

She looks up from her thoughts and brings Frank the cider she poured. "Welcome back."

"Hello, Frank," Kerri says, smiling as she tidies up some of the childlings' art supplies.

He turns from hanging up his coat and toeing off his boots to take the cider (with a brush of fingers) "Thank you. Good to be home." then "Hello Kerri, everyone."

Brekke knows that The Duchy of Steel has hit some hard times... but she's not familiar with who rules there off the top of her head.

A slight grin at the touch, then she gestures for Frank to come sit as she returns to her chair by the fire.

"Rigger, how goes?" Duch asks

"Well. Good patrol." He refreshes himself with a drink of cider and follows the Chief to her seat.

Perhaps oddly, he lowers himself (with a soft grunt) to sit on the floor with his back against the right front leg of her chair, his legs stretched out before him.

Oak joins him. Looks like his person knows how to get pets too

Frank accommodates both his glass and his dog.

Brekke has already settled into her chair again, and her hand rests casually atop one of his horns. "Dutch was speaking of his difficulties with his landlord. A mortal. I was wondering...do we know any fae in the Duchy of Steel who might be able to assist him with the legal issues?"

"Oh now," Dutch says "I didn' mean to whine"

Frank thinks a bit, shakes his head "I'm afraid I don't."

"You have helped us a great deal," Brekke says to Dutch. "It is right we look into what help we can offer."

"Oh now, I see why Rigger fell for you, big hearted woman you are, and if anyonne gives you grief about that you've got a big weapon.." Admiring Speaker, "But all I did was pay back the kind hospitality"

A slight embarrassed look at the compliment. "Thank you," she says, clearing her throat slightly. "I will not push, but if you have need of aid, do ask."

Kerri says, "Dinner will be ready in an hour. Does anybody need anything before then?" She's heading for the kitchen.

"If you could get me a beer today, I'll happy repay you next tuesday" Olgarr says
