Piper pauses as she walks into the lodge in search of Siv. Looking around at the new decor curiously.

"HEy" PIper hears Siv , and then sees her turns around "Just setting up decorations for the Mountain mantle ritual slash celebration slash ceremony slash whatever they're calling it"

"It's weird, isn't it? I mean, Frank's always been mountain here. Well, not always, but as long as I've been here, which I guess isn't that long... What do you think about it? Vali seems solid, but you know them all a lot better'n'me."

"I think my father has a right to retire, but it does feel strange and I think he's too hard on himself. Mom has a similiar problem.. sometimes theyr'e both so damn hidebound to be perfect that I want to kick them in thier big blue asses," She confides, "But Vali will be a good Mountain, and I'll support him. "A pause "You and Vali getting along better since that field trip still?"

She nods. "I don't see him a lot." She admits, "But I think we're cool. We ended up in a neutral to favorable position." Grin.

"Buuuuut, I was looking for you, not Vali."

"Glad you two are cool." smile returned, then "Well, you found me, love. Jonas was sent out on a shopping trip but you got one of us"

"Well... I'd been thinking a lot about that job you were on where you got drained by those nasty girls. The janitor gig?"

"Oh that was just three bitches at the wrong place at my wrong time" She waves it off, "All better now"

"Would you be open to a new opportunity?" Piper looks hopeful. "I hope you're not mad that I went looking on your behalf, but.. I might have found a job offer that you'd like and is a bit better suited than the last..."

For a moment she does look a bit irked then she catches herself, "I don't like the idea that I ran away from a job after one bad encounter. Fiona prize courage, and.. so so I."

Piper bites at her lip a little. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to step on your toes. I'm just... you scared me the other day. And what good am I as a partner if I'm not willing to fight for you? You'd do the same for me, I know. Would you at least come and check it out for me? No obligation. It's just an option."

A tilt of her head, "You know.. the worse thing is, i KNOW I'm being a hypocrite. I'd rush to your aid or defense even when you didn't ask and here I am acting all shocked you'd do the same for me.. it's like you said. I would do the same. What's the job?" She tilts her head, now curious

"It's down at this place on the docks, only about a half hour drive. Called 'Alpine Marina'? At first I figured I'd see if they were hiring for cleaning crews, just to get a foot in the door, but I ran into the oddest couple there..." Filling Siv in about Randal and Klug.

"Oh I've heard of them, that's a bit further commute than I have now but... huh.. seriously? Klug needs help that much?"

"He sounded like he was about ready to quit." She nods. "I figured, A) it's work near the sea, even if not on actual boats. B) Maybe you can work up to handing the tours? Out on the water, I know that you can handle ANYTHING thrown at you.... and C) As a bonus, you'd be working with, or around other Fae. Watch eachother's backs..."

"I had hoped to prove I could make it in the mortal world" She confides "But.. I do know my way around the water. "A bite of her lip, then "you really want me to give this a shot eh?"

"I know." She frowns. "I didn't know that the fae were there, to be honest. I wanted to help find you something that was mortal related." She looks disappointed...in herself. Why did she jump at the first fae opportunity instead of continuing in to check out the Marina itself?

"Oh now don't turn my moping ijnto a reason to beat yourself up. That's not fair.." Siv moves to Piper "I'll tell them I want to fighto f Bedlam so need to interact with the sons of adam and daughters of eve a bit. I can't imagine they'd refuse that"

"So you WILL go check it out?" Hopeful!

"Yes, I will. " She nods and makes a cross her heart motion, "You fought for me and my safety and I should honor that, and more- you tried to make sure I wasn't just safe, but happy. BUT... if you do something later I find to be too hard on yourself or self desctructive I don't want you fussing when I assist you mmm?" eyes sparkle

"Yes, love." She says obediently.

A fftt sound, "Ha. that attitude won't last and we both know it. But I love you for all your fussy ways. " And she kisses her, sweet and long

Her tail twitches happily!

"Oh" reallization "I better go get ready ffor the appointment. What do you think? Is the blue hair dye goinna be a problem?I HOpe not"

"You look great." A pinch on the butt to get her moving.

"Great? Please I don't have a .. wait, maybe if I get those jeans that you say look so good on me iwth the.." yeah she's in motion

Soon, Siv is getting a kiss for luck, and heading out to that interview. Piper is pretty darn sure she'll get it

****Sometime later*******

"I got it!" Siv calls as she returns!

What did we tell you?

"OMG!" Yes, she actually says 'oh em gee'. "Are you excited?? When do you start? Do you even have any idea how to fix a boat engine? I hope I didn't Bee-Ess or oversell you!"

"I looked at the engines, I got the basics, was honest I could learn more."

She grins "And I start tomorrow. Klug's a bit high strung but I think I can roll with it. I think Randal tried to get one over on me but they balanced"

"Ugh." She says, shaking her head.

"They tell me YOU tried to get one over on them" Siv taps one of Piper's horns

Blink BLINK. "Who, me?"

"Little ole you" A kiss, "Commute's a bit longer but it is a better job"

"Mmm." She enjoys the kiss, but looks a little distracted.

"Okay, what's on your mind now?"

"Nothing worthwhile. Want to go out for a bit? See a movie?"

Dubiosu look at the 'notihng worthwhile bit' but she nods "Sure, I'm still dressed up kinda... what do you want to see?"

"Let's see..." She checks her phone for current releases, leaning so that Siv can view too. "Something fun.... oh, mmm... no." Siv sees her glance at, then pass over, a 35th Anniversary release of Labyrinth.

"Shang Chi has good reviews... Candyman? Yikes... too spooky! Jungle Cruise looks fun..."

"Oh not Shang Chi, not without Jaymes along. He's looking forward. He kind of rolled his eyes at Jungle Cruise. He'd forgive the two of us for that one"

"Then it's a date!" Piper grins.

"I buy the tickets, you buy the popcorn? " Hip bump

"AND candy." Sweet tooth!

"I'm gonna lecture you about flossing later..." but the two go off... and catch an early movie.
