A look to her mom's coffee

"I am fine, thank you. I need to start my patrol soon."

"And I have to get back."

"But trust us, Siv, we have indeed spoken for a time," she says seriously. Well, mostly seriously.

"Well in that case I'm glad, and doubly glad I got my hug in. Thanks for sharing the 4th with us, Jessica!" She seems immunne to her mother's bemusement, or clueless

Frank appears behind Brekke, quietly.

Jessica nods. "Ok. I'll be back when I can. Thanks...."

"Need an escort?" Siv offers "Pardon, WANT an escort?"

"No. But thank you. I mean... either way.... I need to know my way, right?"

"Okay" Siv nods , gives her sister another hug, and then gives her room

Brekke looks back at Frank as he draws near, giving him a fond look.

"It is good to have the whole family together, now and then."

"Now and then." he agrees, amused.

"Heck I can whistlte up Dagmar and her folks and we bring in the other half of the kings" Siv says

"It is early for that, Siv. And...I must patrol," she reminds. Then she draws Jessica into a hug. "Let us know if you need anything, or simply wish to talk," she says quietly.

Jess hugs Brekke back.

Then her dad, and Siv.

Siv smiles. She's in a really good mood

Brekke raises a brow at Siv.

Siv DID return the hug

"Siv, whatever you look so very pleased about, is it something you wish to share before your sister departs?"

"Oh, Well, wasn't planning on sharing i with anyone. I got a job is all a mortal one"

Brekke blinks. "A mortal job?" She looks to Frank, and then back to Siv. "What nature of work?"

"Janitor" Siv says proudly

Her brow furrows. "It is honest work," she says slowly. "But...Siv, it can be very banal, in some places." Concern.

"I thought of that... doing it mosttly at the apartments, and two other places but during off hours"

"Ah." A more confident nod. "The apartments are good, not very banal. And the other places?"

"An elementary school..again, no people around whenn I do... and summer courses only... " A pause "And a strip club"

Brekke nods tentative approval at the elementary school....and her expression goes quite still at the mention of the strip club. And...ah, yes, there's the purpling near her ears.

"Whenn it's closed.. not running. Not like I'm working the pole" She assures

After a moment, Brekke nods slowly again. "Be cautious of the glamour and chimera you may find there, Siv." She's trying very hard.

"Will do" A nod

Once her sister is gone, siv says "I'm sorry to drop that on you buys like this. I've just been feeling really good standing up for msyelf in the mortal world"

Brekke gives her a long look...and nods. "It makes you feel good to do good work. I am glad." She may not like all the details, but she does like the work ethic and is trying to be supportive.

"Thanks ,mom, and don't worry, one nice thing is that if anyone tries to abuse me at any of the spots I can throw a rag in their faces and walk. It's only for the summer right now and 'part time'"

Another careful nod. "If the rag is not sufficient...if you wish assistance...." the offer is left unsaid.

A smile at that "Mom, that's sweet of you. Thanks for being so cool about this. I was worried you and da might freak. WHEW"

Frank clears his throat, nods, and finds a drink waiting for him across the room.

"Well..." She glances at Frank, then merely nods. "Yes." Another awkward pause. "I am glad that you are happy, Siv. And...I am glad that you are proud of your work." The latter more sincere in its understated enthusiasm. "Now...I must patrol." She sets down her mug and goes to the front door.

"Oh I got it" Siv offers

"You....?"

Brekke seems to be unclear about exactly what Siv is offering.

"Oh, Patrolling. Figured you and dad might want to talk or take it easy or share pictures or notes?"

A blink. "You just came in. Are you certain?"

"Sure am. Mortal side done, Troll time" She gets her weapon, givees her mom a hug, and heads off

Brekke returns the hug a bit awkwardly, as Siv seems to be moving at speed. She is left standing in her daughter's wake...and then turns to look at Frank by the balefire. "I suppose...I will have a bit more coffee," she says as she goes to refill it.

He had a hot cup waiting for her.

Of coffee.
