With only a week from Samhain, it seems the madness of PEnnons has finally settled. Kerri has found a lot of folks are ..being extra nice, or even indignant on her behalf. She would not say it's Pity, she'd never take that. But the food brought in with nice cards thanking her for all she's done are very sweet. Apparently tove's song sunk in for a few.

Sylvi for her part, finds that her boyfriend has been very attentive , as much as his Stormduties elsewhere allow.

Kerri accepts the contributions with good grace. I may not need pity, but I'll hardly turn away more supplies.

Sylvi enjoys Colton's attentions. And if he gets an occasionally ill-timed call from her "just wanting to talk" when he's trying to do important Storm duties, well....such is the price of a relationship, right?

And at the stables, Star looks worriedly at Spark, who seems to have decided if leaves can flutter by, surely HE can fly

If he thinks she's going to stop, he's mistaken. It might be difficult to keep his mind on his work.

Brekke, meanwhile, is out at the stable. She tends the horses carefully, thoughtfully.

Checks Stormwake over, making sure he is fine after all that jousting.

Stormwake assures them they'll triumph next year

"Hm." Brekke nods, but with a hint of a frown.

"Mum? Why the frown?" Siv asks

She had come quietly , and perhaps is learning to sneak a touch but more likely Brekke was just lost in her thoughts

(With Sylvi) an hour later TXT: You're making me crazy.

"Mm?" Brekke looks up and over, pulled out of her thoughts. "Ah. Siv. I was frowning?" She sets out hay for the horses.

"Yes. Not your usual stoic expression. All well?" Siv says "I know you're a private person but.. well," A breath "I had news and I thought I'd tell you but then i saw you like this"

Star looks like she might just step on Spark's tail herself if he keeps making those flippery flutter attempts. Hmmph. No DIGNITY.

"I am fine." Brekke wipes her hands clean. "News?"

(Sylvi to Colton) TXT: You're really complaining?

"Yes, Lady Doomwind is hoping to drop by and would like to know a good time" An exasperated look "She hates cellphones and texting it turns out. "

"Ah." Her brows furrow slightly. "I...ah." A pause. "It should wait, I think. Until after."

TXT: In truth, ..nooo..long as you make good some promises when you can 😘

"Oh, that's it," Siv says "Sorry mom, you're feeling the tug." Sympathy "Well, I won't make the mistake of coddling you about it again. But I DO want to help. So with your permission I'll send her word to visit after Samhain. "

"If you would, Siv." She sounds slightly grateful, and a bit ashamed.

"Hm." She begins to do more stable work, then says, "Siv...your dance, with Piper's music...."

"Oh" Siv says "Yes, she did amazingly well I think."

TXT: Can you get down here? Or are you going to have to be on duty up there?

"You both did," Brekke says. "It...made an impression."

TXT: Samhain is a tricky night. thin barriers. I need to ask

Siv takes a slow breath, then confesses, "Mom, I... Piper, Jonas, and I... we're a thing. I know that's a shock. I know it probably seems like I'm tarting it up, but instead of a couple it's a trio. I won't say it's not without its emotional risks for us, but mom.. neither has treated me with anything less than honor and affection and I try to treat them with as much honor and adoration "
