Nadeen goes looking for Sylvi

She finds her sitting cross-legged under an autumn-colored maple on the edge of the Lodge yard, scribbling something in a notebook.

Nadeen is no Eiluned, but what the hell, she's not bound by Seelie honor. She tries to peek

Some lines are already crossed off: mermaid, ghoul-girl, zombie-girl The new additions seem to include werewolf, corpse, black lagoon creature And the list is growing.

"Canibal Dryad" She volunteers

Sylvi grins as she looks over her shoulder. "You're not as stealthy as you think, Nadeen. But okay, you volunteering?" She adds the suggestion to her list.

"Actually, that's MY line" She says "You see, I had to ask you something about Pennons"

"Yeah? Like what?"

"Well, in addition to the usual singing competition, there is a DANCE competition..." She starts to explain

Sylvi blinks, and then a complicated series of emotions get reflected in her expression, one after another. Eventually, then end with conflicted. "I...don't think I...I mean, I guess I could do some cheer routines...?"

"Well, the Chieftain mentioned you but it's not obligated, it's just..well, to be honest, I think this dance category was put in to try to do a work around Rivervale," A frown "Something they think the lodge can't win at. Well, I'm with the lodge and I don't like that, so i'm trying to get quite a few of us to show we CAN dance ...we may not take top spot but we'll make sure they don't assume we're all leadfoots"

A hint of a grin. "Maybe they didn't see that dance routine the Farm folks put together for that contest. Well...would it be solo or group? If it's group, we don't have much time to rehearse. I mean, not much time either way, but harder to choreograph a group."

"Solo, I'm hoping to get at least three dancers so it ups our odds. I know ballet, but you've studied more mainstream... and Siv..well, she learned a lot at Fiona ville" Then a roll of her eyes "Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if learning to ride a pole was a side study there"

A quick, startled cough. "Uh, yeah. Maybe. But...I mean, it's Pennons, and it's at Caer Falken. And it's representing the Lodge. I'm betting pole dancing wouldn't exactly be, um...welcome."

"It was a joke.. I know Siv also learned some ball room, anyway I'm making the offer. Frankly? I think I'm the best dancer of the lodge proper... BUT if I show up alone and do well, what some will say is 'well, they're lucky they have a sidhe' and for the WRONG reasons"

A blink. "That's...really generous of you." A note of respect. "I mean, it would be really easy to take that praise as earned, you know?"

"Well, of course it might be earned. I just said I thought I was the best of us" Amusement then she shrugs "It's the principle of the thing. I have tied my fortunes for now to the lodge, I have friends in the lodge. I will not be used against the lodge as a backhanded slap to it. So you will try?"

A grin and a nod. "It's the principle of the thing. You bet."

"Great. Thank you, Sylvi. " She says "So, YOUR list? I thought you were getting costume ideas for yourself for later in October? Is it more?"

"Oh, no...I'm doing Halloween makeup demo videos. I've already done these ones..." she indicates the crossed off items "...and I'm deciding what else to do. I'm kinda hoping to coax Symon and Dirk to get into it. I need more male models."

"Mmm if you make it sound macho enough they might" She considers "But you have plenty of male models if you think about it. Zane would do it for a pout and a mention of his 'pillar of the Mountain' thing... and there's Jonas. All you have to is ask Siv to loan him out."

"Oh, I'm totally going to work up a club-night look for Zane -- but I'm waiting until we're a little closer to the clubs being open again for mortals. I guess I could do it sooner and give them lots of time to practice. As for macho...I don't think Symon worries about that so much. But he'd want to be sure he ended up creepy as hell...and hey, can do. Not sure I'd want to have Jonas model...he's, like, skittish, y'know?"

"mm I suppose he is" She says of Jonas "Seems to hapepn to trolls that resent nobles. We make them uncomfortable due to their resentment yet inablity to deny how amazing we are" Is she joking? Is she serious ? hard to say

Sylvi purses her lips and gives Nadeen a dubious look, then smirks. "Careful, you're gonna bring out a side of me that you won't much enjoy." Same question of joking or serious. Then she shakes her head. "I don't think it's that. I think it's just that...he's very formal in his way, and he doesn't always understand when others are joking or not, I think. Maybe he's less like that now. But...I just don't think it's anything he'd benefit from personally, so he wouldn't get into it, y'know? And it's not much help to have a model who's just tolerating the process. I want a model, not a victim."

"Yes, I suppose it would show through that he was not enjoying it" She ponders "What about Basil ? He's practically moved into Piper's old room... if you're wanting a guy who isn't the usual Caucasian norm? He's not sained yet but he doesn't need be to agree to that"

"Ohhh, hey...yeah, he'd be great." She jots down a note. "Thanks."

"Happy to help,after all you helped me both by voluneering and reminding me that... i should talk to Sally Mae, she DID arrange that dancing thing for the DeBukes... she may know more locals I'm neglected"

"Well...you asked Zane?"

"I keep meaning to. Though dancing's not his passion"

"Well, no...but he's got moves. Then again, we run into the whole trolls-can't-dance thing if he represents the Lodge." A shrug.

"As long as we have SOME Trolls it'll show you can"

"Also, we might get some of the locals showing up to just represent themselves"

"I really loved the year our youth team won the melee. We were SNEAKY," she adds with a rather vindictive grin. "But I think everybody's going to be doing mostly solo stuff. I mean, Dagmar's totally going to be working her butt off with jousting and stuff."

"You have a right to be proud of that. I heard of it.. but yes, seems teams are out this year" A frown

"S'Okay. Stuff changes."

"You're gonna do ballet, huh?"

"Actually, I hope to do a ballet transition to street dancing and back again." A breath "It's going to be a challenge"

"Ooooh...yeah, no kidding." She considers. "I guess should do something more...well, maybe a little acrobatic. Glad I'm not completely out of practice with cheer."

"Maybe a baton included? I mean, that DOES take skill."

"Maybe. Or...huh...maybe use a short-spear instead of a baton...." Thinking of the possibilities there.

"Oh, yes, that would work... depending on how flashy you wanted it it could be touched up from there"

"Gotta get the balance right. Spear tip on one end, some kind of counterbalance on the other...." A nod. "Might work."

"mm weighted glass orb...the mystical counter to the martial?"

A blink. "Huh. I'll have to see if I can find one the right size...but yeah, that might look really cool, too, casting rainbows in the light...."

Then a grin, "You might regret helping me."

She ponders this "Yes, I Might" An admission "I fear Dagmar's been a bad influence on me. She makes it hard to be purely selfish at times" A sigh "Trolls can be dreadfully community minded" She says "But pardon, I need to hunt down Siv"

"Yeah, I bet she'll be all over this." And as Nadeen goes, Sylvi starts up a new page in her notebook for notes on choreography with weighted short spear.
