Olgar is dragging a tree. An odd thing to drag a tree.

It has been chopped down. It's not from the lodge's immediate half mile.

Kerri...is puzzled. Of course, this isn't the first time she's been puzzled by her husband, but...well, he does keep things interesting. "Olgar?" she calls out from near the Lodge. "New pet?"

"Nah, Dagmar would just fuss at how I'm treating it." he says

"Well, the Chieftain will fuss if she thinks that was cut for no good reason." She approaches him and his burden. "What's the occasion?"

"The occasion is, the Chieftains's going to be fussing because it wasn't cute for any good reason" He says then holds up a hand "NOT by me. But I figured folks who do that don't deserve a tree."

"Oh, for the love of...." she sighs and looks it over. "Who did it, then?"

"Two yokels figuring that while they were out of work they could make money selling wood" He says "I'm pretty sure they violated a law or two"

"Almost certainly. I can't blame them for needing to make some money, but lumbering without permission? Not okay." A sigh. "Do you think Sylvi might be able to bring it back to some sort of health, if we put it in a good spot?"

He looks at it, "Honestly? I don't know, our daughter is getting scary good ... the poor thing's been down for at least six hours now I think" Olgar says

"Well...bring it to a spot that might fit well, and I'll go get her. Maybe...over there? Near the treeline?"

troll strength or not I'm gonna need a back brace soon but he nods Stupid macho pride "Got it!" And he pulls the heavy tree towards the tree line

I'd offer to help, but he'd refuse anyway in an attempt to look more manly. Well, he'll get a back rub tonight.... And Kerri goes inside to fetch Sylvi.

A few minutes later, Sylvi comes out of the Lodge and jogs over, Kerri following at a walk. "Wow...some people are jerks," she scowls, apparently having gotten the story.

"Yep. " Olgar says "Assholes are always looking for a a short cut. I should know, I've been an asshole. However, we figured we'd see if you could save this tree somehow? If you can't, we understand, but ... now that Siv has headed back to Earth Runes, the Chief is going to be a bit scowly anyway for a day or two , who needs it magnified right?"

"Seriously. Well...." She bites her lip and looks at the ground. "I'd like to have a hole ready for it. I mean, if it suddenly sprouts a root system above ground, that's going to be harder for it to settle in."

"I'll get shovels," Kerri says, heading to the tool shed.

SLOWLY I turned Olgar will take the shovel from his wife and start digging

Kerri actually gets three shovels, and gives Olgar a wink along with his. The family sets to work together.

Olgar grunts "Not fooling you huh?" A bit of a smile and they dig together

"Nope," Kerri replies.

And soon the hole is dug.

"Okay....so if we stand it up in there, I think I can work a bunk for it," Sylvi says, focusing her thoughts.

Olgar nods "Got it.." Putting the tree up and into the hole.

Kerri helps. Another knowing look to Olgar.

Sylvi sings: "Oh, ho, the rattlin' bog, the bog down in the valley-o,

((And her player hits enter too early...))

"...Oh, ho the rattlin' bog, the bog down in the valley-o!
And in that bog there was a tree, a rare tree, a rattlin' tree!
A tree in the bog, and the bog down in the valley-o!

She walks clockwise around the tree (and her parents) as she sings, a light step, almost a skip.

Olgar mutters something about feeling a maypole

"Daaaad...."

Olgar takes some water out of a waterskin and splashes it even as the spring magic flows

and someone in the distance is singing, clear and high

Kerri starts singing, "And on that tree there was a root, a rare root, a rattlin' root!
A root on the tree and the tree in the hole and the hole in the bog and the bog down in the valley-o!"
And the chorus....and there's a HeatherBalm added in!

Sylvi glances towards where the distant singing is coming from, but then focuses on trying to urge the glamour to heal the tree and help it grow.

The glamour seems to work and join together, mother and daughter's healings , twirling.. new life, seasoned strength

But it does not become exactly what the expected, for the dreaming seems to give it a mein of sorts all it's very own

"It's.. got blueish bark" Olgar blinks

Sylvi's jaw drops... "We...did that?"

"NEAT" Jack the satyr says "I.. did my singing help?"

"Jack! That was you?" Sylvi smiles. "I think you absolutely helped!"

"Weird... yeah, the Chief will want to look at this later" Olgar says touching it, "Solid, doesn't seem to have any rot or decay... " a look at his wife and daughter "You women scare me sometime. In good ways." He ponders "Of course, I mighth ave got that water from the Dreaming..."

"Wow...okay, that was a quadruple whammy. I hope the Chieftain likes it," Sylvi says.

"I'm fairly certain she'll have no complaint," Kerri reassures.

And the talk turns to just what this might mean ..magically speaking
