Brekke, Chieftain of Rivervale, is starting to hate that door.

She shouldn't. It's a passage , quick and easy, she can use to see Jessica. To go to her daughter if she ever needs her

But she feels she cannot go through it, run to Siv, talk to Jessica... they have to come to her. And yet the damn door isn't opening.

So as she sips her coffee staring at the hall, having finished a patrol so she can't even do THAT as a distraction. She might just resent the door. Which is quite unjust.

Hmph...I am the old woman wishing her children would visit more. Another disgruntled sip of coffee and she tries to focus on some documents of barony business.

That, at least, distracts . Questions about the raid are coming in. With the Barony of Pearl River in it's political problems, they are not lodging a formal protest yet. Nor are they thanking.

House Balor has, as predicted, sent a letter denouncing the lost balor... as not operating with their approval, HOWEVER, they also would prefer to handle these matters IN House and hint that a certain Gwydion jumped the gun

She double checks whether that letter is for her alone, or if it is a scribed copy of one sent to the Count.

To be fair, knowing Hemlock, it's possible he'll go 'bad troll' and then get her another magic horse or something as a gift

A slight chuckle at that notion.

Still, she thinks if a House Balor representative had made that denouncement and claim to her face, her head might have exploded at the lie.

Yes, odd that it's CORRESPONDENCE that's going both to her and the Count. The SNake is cautious about Falcon's reach. And then, Mackerel leaps up on the table, the cat is back here instead of Earth Runes because Siv herself has not BEEN at Earthrunes ... the mouse population has no chance thanks to her and Lovecraft. yet the cat looks expectant, looking in the direction of the hall

Brekke looks at the cat...looks at the door...then back at the paper. She mutters, "You are not helping...."

And then the hall door opens and voices can be heard "Almost forgot to bring the longboat" Siv's voice.

Jonas' voice replies "Not a sentence most expect to hear on a return trip's end"

And yes, is that the clatter of hooves?

"When you shrink it down, do you call it a shortboat?" Piper's voice as well.

Brekke is on her feet as soon as the door opens. "Siv?" She tries not to sound too concerned. Curious. Yes, curious.

"For someone who complains about Vali, you seem comfy in his wheel house just sayi..." And then Siv's comment is cut off as she hears the voice, and despite her fears and concers about how her family will react, she can't help it "Mom! Mor!" And Siv comes out and itno view at a fast almost untrollish pace, carrying something that looks like an incredbly ornate Longboat in minature ...

The miniature boat is nothing. Her arms are reaching for her daughter. "Siv..."

The boat is put on the table without a thought more than not dropping it there, and Siv HUGS her. Siv had really meant to be more poised, more controlled, after all, she bears a lot of news not all of it pleasant, and the things she's done... but her mother's open arms shatter that attempt at poise , and those concerns and Siv can't help but almost bury herself in the bigger woman's grip "Oh mom, I've missed you so much"

She watches with a small smile, a little pensive, thinking on her own moms. A smile over to Jonas as Siv gets squished.

Jonas looks to Piper "Shall I get beverages?" A nod at her smile. It is touching

A long silence and Brekke holds her younger daughter. Others are present? It does not matter.

"Let me... you guys catch up a bit." And she slips into the kitchen to find something cool to drink and some cups.

Finally, she takes a deep breath and holds Siv back from her, hands on her shoulders. "I have been concerned."

Jonas nods "I shall assist her" And follows Piper

And it's for the best, because the nice pitcher for iced tea is on a shelf that KERRI has no trouble reaching...

Brekke can see she has reason. Her daughter has the look of a cloth that has been wrung out, then resoaked, several times.

Reasons for concern that is.

Siv looks at her mother "As was I, to be true. " She nods "I don't know where to start, but you are due an explanation and then some. I .. you do not know how much strength you gave me, and from what" The wilder's eyes only now glance over at the ship.

And Brekke might notice it has the mark of the Narwhal on it.. HER Mark.. the one she put on a box

"Siv...what has happened...?" She then follows the glance to the ship. A frown. "That...is from the box Piper brought?"

She looks back to her daughter and brushes back her hair...and with that action a gentle kenning, as if checking for a fever, to see if she is low on glamour.

"It was. And I am in debt to her so many times now. I am sorry if she sc-" She almost says scared "I am sorry if she concerned you though"

Inside the kitchen, Jonas reaches HIGH places and brings htem down. Piper might be amused to note he is almost VISIBLY Straining his ears despite his calm demeanor

"She told me truth, that the carving was to help. When my hands crafted a Narwhal, I realized it was to help you. It is not Piper's fault that I was concerned."

And the glamour is a medly of scents... and humors and lights... Her daughter 'kens' as if she had spent time with so many folks of the lodge, and others besides. it is healthy glamour, strong... and Jessica.. why is some of this reminding her of Jessica?

Piper can't cook, but she can stir together some iced tea... adding some fruit for a fresh touch. It only takes a minute, and she glances at the door. A murmur to Jonas, "Should we give them a minute? I'm curious too." She admits.

"True, and I don't blame her. But I had hoped to keep you from worry regardless of blame or not blame" Siv says "Again, I'm not sure where to begin. Perhaps I shall speak and you ask to guide me. Come, let's sit down. I think you're going to want to before we are through"

Jonas says "it most likely does behoove us to give them a brief period to confer. However, I confess that if I hear raised voices, I will kick that door open and move to Siv's side with the speed of a cheetah" A pause "And I am not sure I meant figuratively"

A puzzled look at the variety and characters of her glamour. Then a nod. "Yes. Tell me of it, and I will ask as I need to." She indicates two seats together and takes one of them, not her seat by the 'Fire.

"Well, you know of, and I am told took part of in breaking the human trafficking chain that a satyr tantalus orchestrated with the aid of many mortals and balor support. I was asked to infiltrate things at the dark heart of it, to spy and give updates, and intell.. and so that when the time came all would be striking where and when they needed... so for the time I've been gone from ER ... I've been wearing the face of an Unseelie Pooka goon and right by the Dream Rapists' side, well, he and his men. "

She nods agreement to Jonas, though she would probably be a little less eager to broach the mama bear in her lair. Pouring a glass of iced tea for him, and taking a sip of her own, though she also is clearly itching to rejoin them.

Brekke's eyes go wide. "Siv..."

The urge to check her daughter for wounds, again for glamour, to fuss.

...and she just manages to restrain it. "Were you discovered?"
