The call goes into Rivervale, and Sir Carowyn passes it on to Frank if he can find him

Frank takes the call.

"Yes, I'll tell him and.." Carowyn WAS about to hang up

"oh, here he is himself. A moment" ANd he hands the phone over "It's Count Jude. With news of the events"

Frank takes the phone. "Excellency."

"Sir Franklyn, wonderful, forgive me not sure of the hour there but I had to spread the word. The slave chain, the trafic like has been broken from Mexico upward. I don't know the details on your part of things but I got word from allies in Canada that the innocents are safe and getting the help they need"

"We are redistributing resources here as well." Frank confirms.

"Well I knew you won, but if you want to tell me the details I'm all ears. Before you do that, or send me a note... the big news? Your youngest daughter is at fenix. From what I understand a lot of this wouldn't have been possible without her. She not only went undercover and poureed loads of information to those that needed it on the missions, we got news on contact points, supplilers, and more. Without her, it's possible the squad hitting the Fenix area wouldn't have been nearly as successful."

A longer pause. "That is.... useful to know, Excellency. Thank you."

"I suppose a lot of credit goes to a certain sluagh, but she's a prickly one so I'm trying to repay her in the coin of discretion. "A sigh "People do not understand me, Sir Franklyn. " Then a beat "is everyone at your end okay? No casualties?"

Brekke has come downstairs, showered and dressed, though very late in the day for her. She gives Frank a curious look when she spots him at the phone.

"Some wounded, recovering. No casualties, Excellency."

Brekke nods, but murmurs, "You may need to mention the Balor."

"Good good. I'd love to hear Rivervale's accounting for Liam records if you wish to write that up? I'm assembling the lore for future generations"

She moves to get herself a mug of coffee, and gets Frank one as well.

"Of course. Excellency... ." And he relates what happened with the Balor in NJ.

"Well, what must be must be. House Balor might just denounce the Balor as a 'rebel with no house approval'. Funny how many 'renegades' they have" A snort

"Yes, Excellency." Grimly.

Brekke goes to Frank and passes him a mug, fixed the way he likes it. She's moving slowly, but better.

"Anything else I can do to help on my end before I let you go?"

"May I ask the question of the Chieftess?"

"She's your wife, I think you're one of the only men in the world who can ask ANYTHING of the Chieftess without sounding presumptive and even then, we married men know to tread carefully" Good humor

A brow as she hears Frank's side of the conversation.

"Count Jude wishes to know if there is anything he can do for us." Frank relays.

"I would like his people to coordinate with Anne Marie, to ensure all the rescued receive the help they need."

Frank tells Jude this.

"Already underway.. by the way. ... what title IS anne Marie?"

"In her mortal life she is a social worker."

"SHes not a knight or.. oh goodness the way she toook over some aspects... so she's not a noble mmm. Wonder if she's up for relocation to Cali?"

"We value her greatly here just as she is, Excellency." Frank says mildly.

"You do not get AnneMarie, Excellency," Brekke says loud enough to be heard.

Firmly territorial.

"Drat" Loud enough to be heard back "Fine fine.. I'll talk later about House Gwydion calling dibs on the good ones"

Frank's beard moves.

He might hear a slight sound of amusement from Brekke, followed by a cough. Only Frank can see the wince.

"Fare well, Count."

"Joy to you and yours" And Jude hangs up

Brekke sighs and goes to settle in her chair by the 'Fire. "Well, I did not consider the Balor might disavow an iron user, but he may be right. It may not be an issue at all."

"Not as much disavow an iron user as one defeated. "

Frank comes over, regards her.

"Point." She sips her coffee and doesn't quite meet his eyes.

"How are you feeling?" Softly.

He waits patiently. "Jessica and Siv are well, the Count said."

She takes a deep breath, or tries and immediately regrets doing so. A nod. "Good. That is good."

"Brekke. Are you healing?"

He kneels next to her where she sits.

"I am. It is...slower." A sigh. "It will take time, but I will heal." She pauses. "I have asked Dirk to cover my patrols for the next day or so."

"Did your conversation go well?"

"I believe so. He is determined to take the blame. But now he knows that does not mean he will be banished."

"Does it seem to be some kind of redcap.... trophy issue?"
