"He liked Stormwake - no dappling, there."

"True. But Dagmar...." Brekke rests a hand on the knight's shoulder. "I have no intention of letting him have her foal, even if that foal be perfection incarnate."

"So... so if we gave her foal away..."

Oh, that idea displeases.

"Dame...be at ease, please. We will find a way."

With that, Brekke excuses herself and heads up the stairs to the room she shares with Frank.

Later, Sir Carowyn returns

Frank has gotten Dagmar a beverage of her choice in the interim.

Sir carowyn says "I have contact information..it doesn't KEN with any glamour" He says "As for Julus, I set him up in a nice room as promised."

An acknowledging grunt from Frank as he glances up the stairs after Brekke for a moment.

"He's to bring a response, and prepared to wait. I don't think he will try anything devious. Yet."

"Julius is either personable or appears to be... that doesn't mean he's not a catspaw or puppet , or perhaps that I'm being manipulated," The Autumn sidhe ponders "I did mention that we were friends to some of the folks working at that motel and we checked up on them now and then. He got the hint quite clearly and took it in good stride."

"Added advantage, it's true."

"He mentioned a lady pooka named bluebell that had advised him the Chieftain liked flattery. A favorite of the Ailil's court it sounds like, or at least fond. A bunny pooka is my guess, who mislead him for forgetting a name day? rather than anger, he apparently decided to make it up to her" he relates the conversation, and gets himself a drink

"Hmmphm."

"As a member of a bannerhouse, my focus is on the love of mortal couples, families, and so forth. But I confess, I can count on one hand the number of Ailil I trust... Let me know if I can help in any other way to back up matters. What did I miss if I might ask? "

Frank passes over the contract pages.

He looks over, and it takes him a moment and he frowns "First bid to a sale? Oh. "

Another grunt. "It will not happen."

"I wish Baron August were here. He's been researching mortal law, it might help," He ponders "Though, come to think of it ,if the foal is given as a gift to a friend or ally, it would be most secure I think?"

"Why not keep it here?"

"Better yet" he agrees

"Sorry, I didn't know the stable could fit three regularly"

"Perhaps Sally Mae might have ideas as well"

"Might have to expand the stable." Frank admits.

A nod

"Could do it, though."

"Easily. Either the Hayes or DeBukes might even help speed it up"

"Have a few months to decide and work."

"I am.. a bit worried that an invitation has been extended to the Count's Pennons"

"What do you mean?"

"He can certainly witness her at Pennons, she'll be hard to miss' or something like that. If the baron hears that, he might translate it as an invitation to Hemlock's pennons, it was open anyway, but this way he could claim to be a guest?"

"Hmphm. He'd love that."

"My concern" A nod

"I meant Count Hemlock."

"I did too. At least, I assume you meant it sarcastically Ailil seem to live to provoke Gwydions.. "

"He'd be a fool to risk it on Pennons at the Count's own court."

"Yes, but," A frown "Is there any chance This Ailil could make Dame Dagmar or Rivervale look bad for inviting him?"

"Probably." Grumpy.

"That was my concern" He says troubled

A sigh. "Well. That's a problem for another day, perhaps."

"True. If there is anything else i can do to help?"

"I don't think so, Sir. Thank you for your help today."

He nods "Then I'll get some rest. The Baroness " meaning Sparrow "Knows how to contact me "

Frank nods. "Sleep well."

And off he goes

And Frank settles in to wait for Brekke.

Some time later, the Chieftain comes back downstairs. The hour is late.

She sighs as she goes to Frank's side and rests a hand on his shoulder. "Carowyn returned?"
