"True... but maybe the fact you took the money means you MIGHT one day trust them again, when they earn it" He says

A HIGHLY dubious look at Zane. "Noooooooo....."

"No?" He says "you mean you'll never trust them again no matter what or..." A curious look

"Trust 'em?" A shrug. "Maybe? But drink with 'em, hook up with 'em? Nah. Lost interest in that. Well, with them." He grins.

A laugh "Yeah... big difference between the act and the people specific. Good on you, man." He says "Truth? I probably avoid sidhe courts because I'm afraid my brain will fry and I'll end up as a lappoodle for someone even prettier than Nadeen. But I shouldn't have dropped my guard against my fellow commoners. Kind of a reverse snobism there"

"Yeah, but what a way to go....." Adam sighs regarding becoming a lap poodle.

A snerk

"ANYway...." He looks at his phone. "Guess I should call Sir Vali, leave him a message or something." He glances sidelong at Zane. "I really -was- hoping Nadeen'd say yes but...."

"Ah, Nadeen is aloof to everyone but maybe Dagmar"

Adam doesn't say anything, but he grins at Zane.

Adam SNERKS too; it kind of pops out.

"We can't say what w'ere thinking or we're dead" He chuckles

"I ain't even admitting to -that-." Still GRINNING.

A hearty laugh

That gets a chuckle from the mortal, at least, and he pulls out his phone to dial.

And waits, listening to it ring.

"Hello?" It's Vali

"Oh, hello Sir. Uh. I was wondering if I could talk to you sometime."

"Well, you're talking to me now" He says "So go ahead"

"Uh, I'm at the Ranger station. It's about, uh, ranger station stuff."

There's a chuckle _"YOu know, that's a fair point. When do you want to meet to have this talkk?"

"Whenever is best for you, Sir." Politely. He winks at Zane.

Then he adds "If it's okay with your folks"

"Uhhhh.... my destiny?" The look on his face is priceless.

Zane only hears HALF this but blinks

Adam now look stunned. "Uh. Oh.... ok, Sir. See you, uh, then." He gives Zane a Look.

"Destiny?" A confused look indeed

As Valil has hung up

"What the actual fuck, man?"

"I don't know" he admits

"Is he yankin' my crank?"

"Possible" he says "he's got a sense of humor that's kind of..well you know. But on the other hand, he's a Beaumayn, they see into the future and don't TELL folks the details"

Adam looks at his phone skeptically. "I think he's yankin'."

"Or both.. maybe you have a destiny he's covering up as a joke? Maybe it's a joke that will lead you to your destiny? Whatever you do, don't let him Jedi Council you to the dark side, okay Anakin?"

"Really -not- going to be a problem on that one." He assures Zane.

"Good to know. " he says

"Well. Guess I'll see him in 3 days." Adam brightens "Hey! Maybe I can practice that courtly way, letting my folks know."

"Sure. Heck, milk it. Tell your folks you're taking lessons or planning to? it's true."

"Eeeehhh.... I meant more, ask them so they say yes instead of telling them I want to study court stuff."

"Oh, yeah.. might do it. What if they say no? I mean, I don't think they would.. you know what? Just ask them like you plan polite and stuff"

"Yeah." He frowns. "Going to have to work on the wording."

"Well." Adam looks around.

"Well, yeah..sorry man.. I am not a hot chick" A grin "So I'll actually have to talk and be interesting if I want to keep you around huh?"

"Dude, probably best if you don't strain yourself." He grins.
