A brow, but she repeats the whisper.

"No, a satyr"

A relieved breath.

"Mmph." Clearly, the notion of an unseelie satyr seems almost more unpleasant to Brekke than an unseelie sluagh. She thinks a moment, then whispers, "What small gift would he appreciate to soften the rejection I will send?"

"A joint, a shag, cash..." it says almost mimicing a stoner attitude, and not a likable one

"Cash." Frank responds firmly to the options.

A sigh, and Brekke spits out the little bit of paper with the relief of somebody getting rid of a bad taste. "Jack will not go with that, certainly. I will send a note and...ugh, yes, cash." She shakes her head. "I do not like that."

"I'm not totally convinced on sending a gift, by the way. Cash was just the best option."

"Mm, perhaps no gift. Merely thanks for his interest," she says with some irony. Then firmly, "Jack should remain here. We will keep looking, perhaps at the apartment, though I do not know. He has been thriving here, among trolls, so I do not know if he requires the influence of his kith. I would not keep him from them, but I do not know if he must live with them."

Then a blink. "Hm."

"Eventually, he will need satyrs. A tragos. As he grows older." He notices the blink. "Hm?"

"I...think...there might be another, a local, who might do well to have a child to look after. One who has already proven a good father. But it may take some convincing...much as it did with your brother," she adds with a bit of a grin.

"Mmm?"

"Jaymes and Tove are going to have their hands full."

"Oh, I would not suggest they take him on, no. Too complex. No...." A glance about the room in belated concern for prying ears, and she steps close to murmur a suggestion in his ear.

An eyebrow. "Interesting." he rumbles.

"Worth further consideration, I think?"

Frank nods. "I think so, yes."

"Good." She nods. "Now...I will write a reply to this, and then...we must scheme." Bemused.

A knock on the door

A blink, and she hands the paper to Frank as she goes to the door to open it.

Frank takes the paper, likewise curious.

The door opens to reveal a boggan woman they do not know in her late 30s "I'm.. terribly sorry, oh thank goodness this is the lodge."

"Yes, this is Rivervale. Come inside." She steps aside to welcome the traveler in. "I am Brekke, Chieftain here. This is Frank, our Mountain."

Frank nods greeting, and gets her a (tiny) mug of coffee. (Tiny being relative)

"Please take your ease," she indicates a seat with a step stool conveniently nearby.

"Wonderful... I've heard so much about you, " True. "my name is Myrtle Anne... Oh I won't be long I just need to call a Torin Torad? I've lost the instructions for our date night and I lost his number on top of it"

A blink. "A...date? With..." Another blink, and then a nod. "His home is not far. Is that where you meant to meet him?"

"I'd be happy to take you there. Or bring him here."

"No no, a drive in movie theatre... one of the few places with social distancing ..sort of?"

"I worry he may already be on the way. If you ahve his number I'll put it in my phone properly..and be out of your hair"

"Mmm. I think I have his number...." Frank pulls out an old-school address book and thumbs through it carefully.

"Oh you're an angel. I am SO sorry about this," The woman says

"I am sure Frank can help you find the location, as well."

She smells pleasantly of herbs that remind Brekke of the garden's donations to the kitchen spice rack

"There is nothing for you to apologize for."

He copies down the number and passes it over. "Phone's just in that room there." he indicates. "Do you know the drive-in's name?"

"Oh well, you're both very kind. I storm in here and use you as a dispatch. Hardly good manners to meet noblity on." She says "But Anne Marie said you folks were good people so glad she's right. I can't believe I'm doing this.. is this Torin fellow nice ? I've been off the dating block for awhile... tempted to hide"

She takes the paper "yes yes i do"

"He is very nice, indeed," Brekke confirms. "You will find him good company, I think. May I ask where you are visiting from, Myrtle Ann?"

"oh, of course... Southern PA... didn't like the local lord... and when my shop burned down through mysterious cirucumstances that were NOT mhy doing, I took my insurance monehy and made off."

Frank will get a street atlas and help find the drive-in.

"Ah. You are settling here? Or considering it? Rivervale is a fine barony," Brekke adds with pride she cannot disguise.

She finds it, 'Oh there.. thanks and I should make that call.. thank you both so much" Then she adds "Well, actually, Anne Marie is pushing for it. She and I were friends back in the day and she's going on and on about your place, Chieftain. Says her two boys are thriving here. And I said' two' and she told me about Dirk as well and I'm like goodness and she said 'you have money, come up here. Herbalism is a booming business anywhere' and it is and.. I thought maybe but I don't know if you want folks just zooming in without at least making sure it's okay with you"

Brekke nods. "We should speak more. Perhaps tomorrow. But I do not wish to delay you further tonight."

Before the Chief can do more... Vali opens the door "Chieftain? I just got sent here... Count has some kind of meeting for all the barons NOW and wanted me to... oh, pardon.. anyway, don't know if it's a whim or a situation, but he's pulling rank on every baron and baroness of Bergen."

Frank stands.

Brekke grows immediately serious. A quick glance to Frank, an "excuse me" to the boggan, and she is out the door with Vali, drawing her cloak over her shoulders as she goes through the door.

Frank takes a few steps after her, then stops.

"Go on, Sir. I've got the phone I promise to leave asap after i make the call"
