"Baby cow? Aw. Yeah, I'll come see."

"Why do I feel like a heifer suddenly?" Tove grumbles "Stabled up. Trapped."

"You aren't trapped!"

"Oh honey, cows dont' have stables..." Clem says helpful "Cows have pens."

"You fell!"

"You can't DO that!"

Tove's mouth opens in surprise "Dagmar... I'm fine."

Clem says "I think your daughter just doesn't appreciate a scare any more than anyone does, Tove." A look to Dagmar "She didn't mean to, honey. She and the baby are good. It'll be all right."

her voice has a kerri like quality

Harrumph. "I know she didn't mean to."

"Fair enough" Clem says almost casually "Now, yyou and your father take turns watching her or one of you go watch your pets or what not...or leave it to Sally Mae. She's very good. I'll be out. "

grunt of agreement.

And Clem talks quietly to Sally mae for a bit and vice vera, and the Chieftain of the Farmhold heads out

Sally Mae says "So... Dagmar, why don't you go feed your pets and guard your housse, your dad will set up a chair here. Then in the morjning you come in with her breakfast?"

Mild glower.

Jaymes ponders then says "Dagmar...shifts I think. You want first or second shift here?"

"Shifts?" Tove says startled.

Jaymes gives Tove a commanding look, that would not work.. if it werent' for the love inside of it.

And Tove sighs and doesn't protest

"First."

Jaymes nods "I'll set my alarm" A kiss on his wife's cheek

She sighs but goes along.

THen Jaymes moves to his daughter, puts a hand on her shoulder, and looks her in the eye ("We will protect her tonight. She will fuss. We will still protect.")

"Hmph." ("It's what we do.")

"Mm" A nod of agreement ("It is. I am proud how you see it.") And he moves out to let her take her shift.

Sally Mae has already arranged pillows and blankets, not just for Tove, but for the recliner nearby for Dagmar

Dag settles, with a murmur of thanks.

"If you prefer the floor near her I can put up a sleeping bag but I think this is okay for tonight" Sally mae says

Tove would protest, but she has, surprisnignly, fallen asleep. The fear over losing the baby was deeper than she admited.

"I'll be okay, thank you."

"You're welcome" And Sally Mae goes back to cleaning up

While Dagmar watches over her mom, Oak settles his jaw into her lap. Clearly there's some guarding going on- He's in.

Brown Dog is happy just to sleep near em

Dagmar doesn't mean to sleep...

though by the time Jaymes shows up for his shift, she has.

She will wake up in her own room. But nothing, no force on earth, will prevent her from getting Tove her breakfast.

but that's..for later.
