"Nuh-uh. Siv said they found it in the woods."

Jaymes grunts (THing is too wild to take home)

Nadeen says "Well, Is it sick? Why didn't it hunt for itself?"

"They clipped the parts of the wings that let it fly" Siv says, perhaps not realizing how that might upseet Dagmar

"What?" Outraged!

"Why, that's.. that's killing it!"

"Maybe Chief'll let me take it home and watch it..."

Jaymes ahems

"What?"

"Yeah poor thing was..." too late Siv realizes she's caused a bit of an outrage "Well, he's fine now. Really. Or will be. Mum's going to put him at the ship area to keep rats and mice from chewing at the ropes. He'll feed well there. "

Jaymes raises a brow AND grunts (The owl is too wild to be inside the house)

"Can he fly yet?"

Is she ignoring Jaymes?

"Short hops, but mum tended his wings and we think he's on a proper mend" Siv assures "This is farther south than most snowy owls ever go, but without a mate he might just set up here anyway who knows? Mum willowhispered him and he seems agreeable. I still nee d to give him a proper name. Obviously Snow is taken"

"True. Maybe... Cloudstrike?"

Jaymes mmms. He's noted this and will consider.

"So, he'll be in the lodge until his wings are better, and then by the boats?"

"That's the plan. Probably enchant him so the balefire can help more...as long as he and mackerel don't try to eat each other" Siv says

"Oh he's going to be ahandsome fellow when he's full and healthy again" She observes.

Nadeen nods "Indeed, a striking speciimen. There is another option perhaps. Sir Sergei of Earth Runes deals in raptors as well as hounds. Maybe he could domesticate it properly?"

"Maybe! And then he could ride around on shoulders..."

"Or I could just dictum him" Nadeen points out.

"I don't think that'd work long-term.."

"I'm not strong enough to geasa it, yet" Nadeen says.

"Geez," Dirk says "If you're gonna make a slave of the thing just hand it over to Symon and let him taxiderm it. "

"Well, training might do it. Make him realize we're friendly."

"We aren't gonna geas it, Dirk."

Siv says "I think he's getting the hint, but from what mum could tell they left it in a filthy little cage and never let it out"

"Wow, 'they' are assholes" Zane gives his opinion.

"Jerks, yeah. THEY should be stuck in a cage in their own shit."

Nadeen smiles fondly at Dagmar, "You are such a softy with animals" Then "But I do agree, one doesn't have to be an animal lover to treat them with a modicum of dignity"

"Not sure I like Cloudstrike" Siv says "To be honest. I was thinking Frosty. Like the snow man?"

"I like animals better than people, most of the time."

"Ugh" Gerd says "Frosty? really?"

"I dunno..."

"Szron is Polish for frost as in the ice, Mroz is for the cold that freezes water especially at night" Nadeen considers

Jaymes mmphs "Maybe we shouldn't name it yet until it's out of the lodge and in the boathouse."

"Frost-talon?"

"Superhero like even," Zane says

"Winterdeath" Gerd says.

Dirk goes 'Ooo Winterdeath sounds metal"

"It sounds supervillainy" Siv wrinkles her nose

"WInterfrost?"

Jaymes gives an alarmed look at his wife. Is that three times he's been dismissed?

Tove pats his hand

"If I might? " Tove says "Since he was found so close to it, and he fits the winter one, why not Solstice?"

Now Jaymes gives a mutter mmph brow at his wife. (I thought we agreed no names yet?)
