Kerri tilts her head at him. "I believe you'll be able to help when they're done. After all, we'll have a new sidhe in a six-year-old's body...a six-year-old who never learned to play games or build mud castles. I imagine you'd have much to teach him. But do you think you could help right now?"

He sits up, looking thoughtful at this. "I thought he was an oldy-moldy one."

"Well, his sidhe soul is much older, yes, but the body that hosts him will be that of a six year old boy. Connor, the mortal boy's soul was trapped in his body with no way to reach out or communicate or play with others. We think...we hope...that by doing this, the sidhe finds a way to live here, and the mortal soul will have a freer life in the Dreaming." She sounds a bit troubled, though.

“Being trapped doesn’t sound like any fun at all. Will he have a tail in the dreaming? Or, or be ten feet tall, with three arms and no nose? Or no arms and three noses? What if he’s lonely? Should we go check on him?”

"I don't know if we'll be able to. Olgar is trying to lead him to a safe place, so at least the boy can get started okay. Maybe Olgar will be able to tell us more when he gets back." Again, that tension, though maybe that's just because she's figuring out what they're running low on for shopping.

“Maybe. I think I’m going to be Olgar someday. I can roam the trods and rescue people, too.” He nibbles at the scotch egg. “Need more eggs.” He adds, helpfully.
