Brekke's about to comment, but ...no, this train is well underway....

"YES.. I eman.." The pooka says "She's just.. you know, getting to know the place. I've shown her trees so many trees.. and ... she wants.. she likes it... so we ..we KIDNAP various nockers to visit now and then.. in the mean time, she learns here from like.. someone else who is good at machines?"

Sally Mae blinks "You mean like Frank and the truck?"

"Or someone who is good with munitions," Brekke points out blandly.

"What a crazy random happenstance!" Tiffany says "Munitions is my middle name, Tiffany Munitions Van Hunt"

A light seems to come on for Sally Mae, and she gives the Chief a look, then says "Oh no, Tiffany. You've made your feelings clear about the kids"

"You, Tiffany?" Brekke arches a brow. "But would that not be a great imposition?" The line is spoken with patently unsurprised surprise.

"Hey, a thane's gotta do what a Thane's gotta do.. right? And I could never be well dam., But mentoring? I could be like a member of the big Sitter program... show her some Pointers. It would be a huskey situation but I could shepherd her! Right? I mean.. it's got to be better than making her feel like we were happy to get her out of.. like she was some stray I... Chief? I'll do it. I'll jump on the girl grenade. I'll take the blast and ... you know, go down.. I can disarm her... I know I can"

Vali peeks in "Hey what's all the yelling about?"

"Mm...it is not a decision for you to make alone, Tiffany. You do, after all, share your residence with somebody. Ah, Vali...you are back." She gets up to refill her coffee...this might be quite a show.

Tiffany grabs Vali, presses against him, "Hey stud, know how you always wanted to have a kid?"

"Yes" He says blinking "But I wasn't hoping to make it happen in front of the Chieftain and Sally Mae"

What occurs next is blatant shameless and manipulative.. as the pooka whispers into his ear while nibbling lightly, stops, then whispers more... leading to rather one sided conversation, but at least it's the side the Gwydion dar can register truths on.

"No, that is quite unnecessary," Brekke confirms.

".. a nocker? what could we possibly have in common with a..."

"... they'll beat her in Mexico?"

Sally Mae refills coffee

Brekke returns to her coffee with a side glance to Sally Mae.

".. who will... GOBLIN town? No kid should go to..."

".... is GLamzon dot com even a thing? Okay hold on ... is okay if I met her maybe or is that too much to>.."

She turns to watch the balefire, for all the world as if nothing terribly amusing is happening in the room.

"Yes, okay Yes. Yes. We can give her a week and see how it works for me... I'm putting my foot down on this I need..."

"Okay, at least a month, she can stay at least a month"

Sally Mae, less practiced in the way of not swallowing her own face has sense to turn so only the Chief can see her smile as Vali tries to 'put his foot down'

Shortly there after, and Vali's not sure how it happened... it looks like Tiff is going to be telling hte girl she's staying for a month and seeing if the nocker girl would like the idea.

Brekke clears her throat. "Vali, I am impressed. I know that Dame Tiffany has been firmly opposed to the presence of childlings. It is a testament to your persuasive skills that she has considered this action."

"It is?" He blinks

Brekke merely blinks at him.

"Well, I am glad she's met one she can stand."

"Indeed."

But befor e he can clarify, Tiffany nods "Oh totally swayed... you got me, smooth talker... I'm gonna let her know"

and off she goes.

"Okay..." Valli watches her go "Is it me, or is her tail wagging HARDER now than we I returned?"

"I believe it is a cumulative effect."

"CHief? Did I just agree to adopt a kid?" Vali says looking at her as if he suspects skullduggery but can't prove it

"It sounded to me as though you agreed to foster a childling with the potential outcome of adoption, yes."

"I.. I guess I better go meet this girl.. you know, since I'm going to be living with her for at least a month" He says still stunned, and out he goes.

Sally Mae grins "He'll be living longer than that with her, I'd put money on it. " The Kinain grins at the Chief "You should rest up, Chief. But.. with your permission? Can I tell Kerri how you just played him, or do you want that pleasure for yourself?"

"Go forth and nurture, Sir Vali." She does look closely at him to check his glamour before he goes, and passes him a bit of dross if it seems needed.

He'll be okay, but will want to recharge more fully sometime in the next few days.

After he goes, she grins a bit to Sally Mae. "I do not believe I could do the story justice. Feel free to tell it." She finishes her coffee, then rises. "Good night, Sally Mae."

"Good night, Chieftain." Sally Mae has to fight the urge to salute. "Well earned slumber to the victor"

And well earned sleep is had
