"Fae steeds are smart, yeah? Almost people smart?"

As long as she's heading into the paddock, Brekke lets her go...and closes the gate behind her.

Stormwake does, moving side by side, but seems startled when she is even faster than he!

What a blow to masculine stallion pride!

He may be more strong, more stamina, but she's the lightning to his thunder!

"Yes. You can see it already. She is not only reacting from reflex, but she is thinking."

A snort, and he redoubles his efforts. He may not be faster, but he has stamina. THAT Will impress her.

And save his pride.

A bit of a chuckle. "So far, so good. Well...what do you think, Dame?"

"She's beautiful."

"And... she shouldn't stay with him. Connor won't.. we won't let him take Connor, right?"

"We will not. But Dagmar...he does not want Connor. Connor is an embarrassment to him, just as she is, because neither fits his vision of beauty or perfection."

Grunt.

"He sucks."

She pulls to try to keep ahead, but then suddenly plants her heels and gives a mighty kick off - up, and OVER the fence, leaving Stormwake, quite literally, in her dust. A high and spirited whinny - is she laughing at him? As she trots over to the fence, and... nuzzles the bucket for more water.

(Elswhere) Gerd picks up Connor and puts him on her shoulders while the tour goes on

Stormwake is almost sure what just happened is cheating. He looks to the Chief as if to say "MAWWWWWMM, she's not playing fair!"

"Gee-up! Whee! Gerd, did I tell you about the time I was a mighty Troll Steed? First I had to grow as big as a horse... then Siv rode me all around the lodge!"

Brekke looks alert and concerned as the mare jumps out of the paddock! But then the nuzzle at the bucket, and she chuckles. "Yes, more water...but get back in there, first. Do not make me build a higher fence."

"Stormwake, I think you have met your match."

Dagmar stares, agape.

"...Dude."

Stormwake makes a powerful stamp in the ground, but must content himself with keeping parralle on this side of the fence

Connor gets a glance from the Baron, lips pursed, though he turns back attentively to the tour.

The mare's tail switches, and she walks back through the fence, if not with an air of obedience, at least polite respect.

"Dagmar, refill the bucket, please, and put it where she can reach it. Perhaps she will come to you. I will put out water for the gelding and Stormwake."

A nod! She is quick to comply... certainly hoping, perhaps, to draw the mare's attention, just a little bit.

Stormwake gives an equine nod of respect to the mare.

Water seen to, Brekke tells Dagmar, "Stay with them. I would speak with the Baron. Alert me if there is any problem."

The wilder is approached with more caution. Though, she is still a good several feet taller than the Squire she had 'savaged' with her 'mean streak'. The nameless mare approaches, puffing out her breath and shaking her head a bit, before the allure of water draws her in. She pauses several times in drinking to eye Dagmar, as though waiting for something - perhaps food or water was used to draw in an unwilling horse to the bridle, when nothing else would do.

Gerd doesn't seem to care what folks think of her giving her brother a lift.

Sylvi is winding the tour back around towards the stables, anyway. It's not the most fascinating tour, but the almost-Autumn gardens are still nice.

Stormwake actually seems to encourage the mare's good behavior. Showing her how one acts around here.

He thanks the emissary politely, and expresses that she is welcome to visit his Barony in the future. A comment though, meant kindly, that she may wish to keep her companion in close view, as the hunting hounds may take Flopsy as a challenge.

"It's okay, Star. I won't hurt you." She promises.

Flopsy grooms himself.

Brekke strides up to meet the tour party. A nod to Sylvi, and she turns to the Baron. "Lord Aidenn, I will be glad to accept the mare. You need not be concerned about providing for her boarding if you will allow me to claim her outright."

She finishes her drink, and sniffs the air around Dagmar - hmmm. Did she have any of those treats for Stormwind on her, currently?

With the sniffing... flat palm, like Chief taught her. Less likely to get nipped fingers.

He turns from Sylvi to nod to Brekke, looking a little surprised at the sudden change of heart, but relieved. "Then I will be glad to provide you with her paperwork. She has quite the impressive lineage. And.. as we've seen, even the most impressive breeding does not always turn out as planned, but some may find some dross amidst the dirt, as it were."

A slightly narrowed look. "I will thank you not to speak of my horse that way." Perhaps a joke? Perhaps not. "Additionally, you may need to look to your stables grooms. Somebody had failed to water the poor creature...she nearly foundered herself when offered water. And the bit was tight enough to draw blood."

Gerd smiles at the Chief's comment

She doesn't force the sugar cube - patience is better with wild things. Patience and stillness.

Stormwake leans forward ready to take it if she won't.

Connor busies himself with... something. Uh, a stick. He found a stick, and is poking at some leaves.

The Baron frowns slightly, but lets it slide. Though, his eyes narrow dangerously as he turns to Perchel. "Is this true, Squire?" The boy shakes his head vigorously. " No sir! I wouldn't do that!" DING

A frown. "The boy has forgotten that I am Gwydion." She leaves it at that.

"At any rate...your horse is watered as well, Sir."

Gerd leans forward towards Connor, "What the Ailil doesn't see is almost ALL gemstones are found by digging in the dirt. We are precious not because we are alike, but because each of us , even if given the same cut, is rare. Your'e ojne of a kind, bro, and that's a good thing"
