Brekke nods slowly. "We will watch over her while you are away."

"Of course we will."

"Thanks, Chief. Mind you, Sylvi's .. well, she's needing us less and less it seems." A nose wrinkle "Stings a bit.. so she'll be fine. Until she's NOT fine, then watch for the explosions. That's how she rolls"

A tight nod, and she looks to Olgar. "Okay, then."

A wry look at Olgar from Brekke. "I am aware."

Then she watches Kerri seriously and silently.

Olgar looks to his wife, grabs a few things, then eyes the cabinet.

A pause from the Hearth, then a nod. "Right. Okay. " And she goes to unlock the cabinet.

Frank sets his book down and folds his glasses away.

The pan gleams once the cabinet is open.

Once it's open, she briefly considers the pan...then says, "This is ridiculous, but...." And she puts on an oven mitt before picking it up.

"Smart." Frank counters.

"Makes sense to me"

A nod from the Chieftain.

Kerri nods, then freezes for a moment, jaw tightening...then quickly wraps the pan in a tea towel and shoves it unceremoniously into the pack, along with the oven mitt. She tightens the strings quickly to close it.

A look to the others, and she picks up the pack to put it on her shoulders. "Let's go," she says anxiously to Olgar.

"Safe travels." Frank urges, just a little anxiously.

"Right." He nods and leads his wife off. The hardest part? NOT looking back at her constantly to make sure she's all right

"Rover, Hearth...we will watch for you."

Olgar grunts in response a nod.

Kerri follows, looks back briefly at the others and at her kitchen...then goes out the door in determined move.

and Kerri and Olgar Davidson are gone...

Frank puts an arm around Brekke's shoulders.

Brekke frowns after them as she stands with Frank. "I did not suspect. I should have."

"As should I."

"Come home soon, Kerri." Frank murmurs under his breath.

"Mm." Brekke agrees. Then..."If she retains what she has learned already, Frank...we may wish to be aware of that."

Frank glances at her. "Nothing wrong with the Art, Brekke; just the uses it is sometimes put to. And yes, I recognize the irony of -me- saying that."

She raises her brows at him. "I am surprised, it is true. But as you say...." She nods.

Brogan sighs "No.. no Connor... it's staff FIGHTING, not staff biting... you.. you need to stop chewing on it. Warriors don't do this."

“But if I chew it up FIRST then no one can hit anyone with it.” He argues, sensibly.
