Might have! She's waving one arm in the air like she was raising something

Adam comes up on his hands and knees and looks...

And with a leap he wouldn't think possible, she is over a hedge to..wherever

His mouth opens slightly... awed.

Adam is a damn good athlete, but that was almost olympic level hurdle jumping

From a very white girl no less.

Slowly he collects himself.... bounces a few times, watching where.... well, a girl chased her dog....

"Dang."

He bounces.

Then gets back to practice.

"Look out, Oak! I got it"

"Okay okay.... don't let it get away..."

Snarl Growl!

Sounds only

He... he has to look up, catch the ball, wait, watch....

Whatever is going on it's behind those hedges and trees.

Not that there is anything stopping him from looking over there if he wants to get closer.

Adam looks around, bouncing... and then collects his ball under an arm and .... well.... there might be something over there that he should tell his parents about. New house. Ya know.

He sneaks ..err approaches.

And then he sees a clearing , and that girl moving like she was a stunt double facing CGI... and there's the dog snarling and snapping at... thin air?

He watches for a moment, confused....

"Come on, ye miserable slice of puke... you'll not be hurting anyone else or my name's not..." She makes a slashing motion with her right hand like some sort of violent baton twirler missing the baton, then out of the corner of her eye she sees him "Oh...heeeeeey" She says still ducking and slashing at the air.

"Hey?" Confused.

"My name's Siv...Siv King. Don't mind me. Just a... a bit of improv for.." she twists "Possible LARPING... " She rolls. Then stabs again.

Well, thrusts with her hand in a stabbing motion.

"Oh... kay?"

The dog yipes at something.

And for a moment the girl looks furious at the empty air!

A yell, and both the girl's hands make one last motion, and she goes "HA!"

Then she moves to her dog, "Hey , Oak. yeah..hornet got you I bet."

"Hey, you ok?" Confused about what he's ... well, not seen.

"Oh I'm fine..>" She says recovering her breath "Pretty intense ah... improv. You know, Larping is pretty intense."

"Larp.... you mean.... larping? Live action role play?"

"Why... yes. What else could it stand for" She says with a large smile, but she seems to be looking over he dog's foot with concern now and then.

"I.... I don't know, I mean....Is your dog ok?"

"Hornet sting, but I should get him home." She does look concerned. "You're new aren't you?"

"Nah. I'm 16 years old." Straight faced.

She actually laughs at that, "Cute."

"You?" a question, a challenge.

"Seventeen, which would make me a cougar I suppose. Rarwr." Just as straight faced as he was.

"What's your name?"

"Siv King," She says "And your name, good sir?" Patting the dog.

"Adam" He offers his hand. "We just moved here."

She shakes his hand, good grip, "Well, welcome . " She looks at him intently for a moment then "So you'll be going to our high school then. Saw you playing basketball"

"Just... trying to keep my skills." He appreciates her shake, maybe more,.

"Well" She says "let's see if you're good enough to qualify..." A pause "For the team , of course."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, there's the main team , and the back up team. No shame in either mind, but we've got a pretty good basketball team last year and so competition will be fierce"

"Yeah?" He looks forward to the challenge. "Ok."

"Well, confidence isn't a problem for you is it?" She does not seem to disapprove.
