"So, like, Miss Kerri is a bigwig, so be polite? I'm a knight, but, like, barely. It hasn't been a week yet."

"Thank you, Hearth Kerri" he has corrected himself.

"Oh, those look so good... thanks!"

Kerri looks vaguely amused at being called a bigwig. "Please help yourselves. Squire Brogan, you mentioned a scroll...?"

"I think you're the first Daireann I've met proper."

"Oh yes," He hands it out, it has the County Seal on it.

"We're 'newer' house in return, but very old" He says

She snags a sticky bun. "Mm-hmm. Like Varich."

Kerri takes it and frowns slightly, her brow furrowing. "This is from Count Hemlock?" She doesn't open it immediately.

"Yes, Hearth" He seems hesitant to reach for food while being asked questions

"Please, Squire, eat." She pauses another moment, then breaks the seal and unfurls the scroll to read it.

Lots of formal introductions.. well wishes and so on then... to the matter

The boy has dug in, "This is divine" He says getting his hands sticky.

Kerri doesn't seem to hear the compliment. She's actually gone a bit slackjawed and wide-eyed.

Yup, for his attempted big words and oh so polite behavior... he still somehow gets sticky all the way up to his forearms like most boys

"Oh, you're as messy as Connor..."

Dagmar, being more mature, is only sticky to her wrists.

The boy blushes and wipes at his fingers with a napkin

leaving the wrists sticky, but hey his hands are clean.

"So where you from?" Wipe hands, drink Dr. Pepper.

"The Duchy of Agate, uhm.. Nebraska" He says "But my family has moved here with the flood. "

"Ohhh, yeah. That blows. We had some flooding here last year, and it was scary - but I heard it's real bad out there."

"I didn't like leaving, we Daireann do not normally run" Brogan nods

Kerri finally manages to re-roll the scroll, after re-reading it three or four times. She clears her throat. "Well...Squire Brogan, it seems I'm to take you as my squire. Does this suit you?"

She looks over at Kerri, curious. She's not the best at reading people, but...

"I will make you proud, Dame..err Hearth" He hops off the chair and kneels, "I shall be as a sword to thy hand and those who do wrong to you will feel my wrath"

Kerri's playing this close to the chest.

"...Wow."

A blink at the sidhe kneeling before her and another moment of stunned silence.

Siv walks down the steps, blinks as she sees a sidhe boy kneeling to Kerri. Rubs her eyes, mutters 'world of nope' and walks back upstairs.

"I...would like you to stand, Squire Brogan." Then an attempt at a grin. "Or around here, someone might trip over you."

"I am not afraid of giants, my knight, but yes, I wouldn't want to harm anyone" He says rising, and a chin nod

...blink. She studies Brogan like a curiosity at the zoo.

"Good." She nods, and looks at the scroll again. "I do not know what Count Hemlock has told you...but I have never had the honor of a squire. I will do my best to guide you, teach you, and protect you."

"My house appears rare in Bergen, my liege, a loss to it I know, but it is otherwise a most wondrous county. The Count did hear my House honored three virtues, and one of them was Hospitality. Apparently this is something at which you excel!"

"She does." Helpfully.

The boy tries to be polished and smooth, his voice rises in volume a bit as he gets excited.

"The Count is good to recognize this." She nods, her own tone a bit formal as well. "You said your family has moved to the area. Are any of them kith or kin?"

A brief grateful glance to Dagmar for her support. She still seems very tense.

"My mother has a touch of the blood" he says "She has been enchanted once or twice, but I do not know if she comprehends how Arcadians work" A sad look on his face, one of regret.

She nods. "But...you are able to live at home with them, still?"

"I am trying to determine if we need to arrange accommodations," she clarifies.

"Ah" he says "Thank you, but unless you insist I will stay with them. They are in the area."

"Nadeen lives with regular people, and she's a sidhe."

“....erri, ...erri... Kerri.... KERRI!” The calling is heard from some ways away as a boy races up and barrels through the door, gasping for breath. “Kerri!”

He reins in his speed when he notices someone new in the room, and blinks at the other boy. Mussed and spattered with fine rich dirt, as well a boy should be after a long afternoon of rollicking in the woods. Barefoot and with dirty paws- er, hands and feet, he looks over the lad with wide eyed curiousity.

Brogan stares at the new boy (new to him)

"Connor, not..." A sigh as the boy barrels in. "...on the floor." Then a game grin. "Have you had an adventure?"

“I did, yes’m, I did. I found that there are LITTLE SQUIRLS up in one of the pine trees, hidden in a hole, and not even any hair on yet. I had a meeting with Brown Dog and the others to let them know that they aren’t ‘lowed to chase them until they get their tails all grown in, but then I SMELT STICKY ONES.”
