Sylvi might not hear Dag approach, though the other teen is not stealthy. Tromp tromp tromp through the snow...

Well, with a whack and hack now and then, Siv does seem distracted. In fact, Dagmar is probably aware of her first, rather than the other way around.

dagmar might also notice that Siv is blowing off some angry steam.

"You look pissssssed."

She whirls, blade in hand then stops "Lil'bit" sheepish looking "Ah, had a fight with my boyfriend. well, not much of a fight. He just glared and spoke very cool"

"Fight about what?"

"I'm going to Carnivale alone." She says "Just me. And... well, I didn't mean it as an insult. I just...I don't know. " She says "After that victory, with Kelby's death casting a pall over it... seemed pretty bad all around, not just for Sylvi, or the DeBukes... but everyone. I couldn't fix it. I didn't even feel as bad as others because, we saved SO many people. you know? It.. I thought that's how any troll would want to go. A cause like that. Instead, it was just as if noting had gone right but I felt it had, and I felt a bit like a bitch for thinking so. "

"I should say, others are going to Carnivale too, just.. I'll bee going to a different place. You know?"

"You won't be... oh."

"Do you think Kerri will need kitchen help?"

"oh Dagmar, probably not. We're not holding Carnivale here... that's the Count's place. You should go. you'd have fun. I bet."

"Oh..."

"Well. It's fine. The Kelby thing doesn't feel real, though. And I dunno about the whole rescue - Jaymes said some are coming here?"

Siv looks at her curiously for a moment, then answers "Oh yeah. I helped Aunt Kerri set them up. Some at the motel, others got taken care of by folks like the Wayburtons or Luci's folks."

"We're getting one."

"It sucks that everybody's down. I dunno. It... I dunno?" A frown and a shrug.

"Aye. Well, Jaymes seems himself, and Tove is..pretty upbeat. But for a while here, it was like at the ldoge itself? Eggshells everywhere and ... I just felt like I couldn't step right. It's better now that I talked to my folks about it, but I still wanted one night where itw as just me and no one I loved would get offended or hurt,, or let down... or look at me weird for doing it wrong whatever it is." A sigh "Of course, Bancroft IS hurt sooo ..that sucks>"

"Well, tell him to get over it. You're allowed a night to do whatever."

"He knows... and I tried to allow him a night to do..whatever, you know? That I would understand if...he was tempted. Oh boy that was a mistake."

"Huh? Why?"

"Still trying to figure that out myself. All I said was that I understand if he was tempted and wanted to spend time with another girl, him being a healthy lad and all. They have needs and all. Told him i understood what boys were like...and his jaw just got more and more set and he got really cold, not banal, but woo...room got chilly. I assured him, that if he was worried, I was not planning on being with another lad beyond maybe dancing or light flirts right? Figured that was it. nope. He said very coolly something like 'Well, atl east one of us can contain themselves' and it kind of went down hill from there."

"Ohhh. Like, you just sort of said he had no honor and would cheat on you if he could. But, like, Bancroft is pretty seelie, right?"

"And pretty devoted, too..."

"I didn't say he had no honor, I just said..." Her eyes widen "oh shit. I insulted his honor"

"Kinda, yeah."

"Oh sweet Jesus and his card playing buddy Baldur, I'm an IDIOT"

"Only sometimes!"

"I as much as told im I expected him to cheat on me. I.. I don't know, dad always made it sound like it was what boys were after and ...mom... Mom wasn't very social when she was my age. So... I don't know... ih the shows most of the mortal boys act like it's all they think about"

"But Bancroft isn't mortal."

"I know..I know" she groans

"And, I mean, you don't..." A frown. "I ain't good at this... but, like, I've been treated like I'm no good and, like, that's all anyone expects."

"It hurts."

"I owe him a big apology, don't I? Oh like I have to ask. Thanks, Dagmar. You're not just good, right now, you're the best. You may have saved me from letting a really big insult on someone I love linger."

"An apology and maybe a gift." She nods. "I vote pizza."

"Well, after calling him an honorless horndig, offering him make up sex will be oddly self defeating.. so maybe pizza" She nnods "Way to a man's heart is through his... and I'm DOING It again."

"Stereotyping?"

"I am.. and oh gosh it makes me nuts when Aunt Kerri points it out because I hate that she might be right. I judge too quicky and too broadly. I need to STOP that. I just.. argh."

"Well, just be blunt and honest in your apology, too?"

"But don't... don;t get too hung up on yourself, neither. "

"mmm... I suppose That I could do. Hung up? like... make it about me you mean?"

"Right. Like, sometimes... sometimes you worry a lot that you are screwing up? But you are just making, like, normal mistakes, not major fuckups... or, like, not even mistakes, you're just being Siv instead of someone else, and then you worry that THAT is a mistake."

"And, I mean, it's cool, sometimes you gotta stress - but, like, you know you're fine and we like you - right?"

"Yeah." She nods then a tilt of her head, "Do you ever feel that way? Not the Siv part i mean I."

"Sometimes, yeah."

"Maybe a lot of the time."

"Is that why you always prefer to work the kitchen or other duties at holidays? Well, not ALWAYS... but you know? Because.. then you have like an idea what to expect better and what's expected of you?"

She nods.
