A WHOOP Breaks out in Rivervale

From Vali, "Hot damn"

"What Damn?" Dagmar emerges from the kitchen, wiping her hands on a towel.

"I got a text ...they're safe at the farm and on their way here"

"Everybody?"

"Well, I don't know about all the DeBukes but for our Rivervale crew? All dandy."

"Or at least alive" A grin "Yeah, that includes your dad."

Dagmar smiles. "Well... okay then."

"Explains why your phone that you sat down so you wouldn't get wet vibrated"

"It... I gotta see it!" She dashes to check.

Text from her dad : "I am safe. I am at the farm. I am coming home soon. Love you."

"See you soon!"

Dagmar flies right on past Vali, straight to the bridge... and waits.

And just like that, she's waiting again

Vali watches her race off "You have..." He informs the empty room "My permission to leave"

The bridge pullses and .. Jaymes comes out, his garments blood soaked and torn, his armor dented, and while his wounds are healed mostly, there are new scars that may take a long time to fade.

He moves with long strides as if he will not be late for something, or someone

"DAD!" She calls out, alarmed at the blood - running to meet him.

And despite the fact that Dagmar is the biggest tallest girl in her class, she is scooped up as if she were no more trouble than a teddy bear and held for only a moment as he looks her over to make sure she's okay "Dagmar" and he hugs her fiercely still off the ground for a bit before finally letting her find her feet.

Another hug, then.. "Well, I wasn't worried. Knew you'd be back..."

"Yeah? Well, I admit, my memories are scattered but I remember some close calls. This is me healed up after. Whew. Glad you're getting sained soon. I could use more back up if I pull stuff like that again"

"Right! Won't be left behind next time..."

She maybe on the ground again but his hand isn't leaving her shoulder yet as if he's making sure she's not going to vanish "I missed you. How is the lodge? Twobit sulking?"

"Oh, good - there was a whole thing with a bat rat..."

"A bat rat?" He raises a brow "Is that just what it sounds like?"

"Yuh-huh, it's in the shed..."

"He likes cheese."

"I think maybe I'll shower first..." He comments

"Oh, right! TwoBit missed you...."

"Good to know. "

"She just looked for you every morning..."

"Yeah? Did you tell her not to worry, that you knew it was cool?"

"I did. Totally. I knew you'd be back. You promised."

A very fond look "Okay. I gotta ask... how are your studies?"

"Eh, fine."

"Got a B on my math test."

"Nice!" He says "proud of you for that one. I know it's not your favorite"

"It isn't, but Symon helped."

A nod . He's saying less now, as if just being around her is enough, "Sports?"

"Me and May and Gonzales are trying out for track next week!"

"Heh" A grin "Shotput and such? I almost feel sorry for the competitors. You're gonna dominate"

"Yeah! I mean, after a caber, what's a ball?"

"Just an ugly looking bowling ball at best" He nods

He looks around as they close on the lodge "i've missed this place. So very much"

"Almost as much as I missed you" He admits "It surprises me. I walked aaway from Thyle after years... and I'm fine. A few months here and I'm happy. Huh"

"...I missed you, too."

"Good. How's Tove? She's at the house?"

"Yeah, she is. You should surprise her!"

"I will.. but let's go into the lodge first. Oh man I have no idea how they're going to split all those people"
