"Frankly, I think you owe Dagmar an apology. It's obvious that she considers hastein a fellow warrior spirit" sally mae says "She might not like that talk. Am I reading it right, Dagmar?"

"She doesn't have to know, just letting you know to keep it in mind."

"Um. I should clean up the paint."

Kerri nods to Dagmar. "It is getting late. Do you want me to keep the toolbox here until we can give it a good coat of sealant?"

"Well, I was just meaning a jest, probably to keep my own mind off.. things, but apologizes to you Dagmar if I overstepped, and to you and your Kin, Sally Mae. " Contrite. "I don't mean to be a weasel"

"Could you? I need to hide it from Jaymes..."

"You're not a weasel," Sally Mae says with a chuckle "And apology accepted. Though honestly at times even we jest about it"

"I'd be happy to, Dagmar." Kerri carefully moves the dry toolbox to a high shelf in the utility closet, and starts putting the paints away, too. "Wash out the brushes, please."

"Siv, you're not a weasel, but...well, sometimes you do share your opinions about others perhaps a bit too easily."

Siv , more contrite, nods "Bad habbit of mine. Got into it on the ship. Lots of stoic types among trolls so if I wanted conversation , I had to start it, and eep it going. Doesn't excuse it, just explains it. " A sheepish look

A grunt from Dagmar as she washes out brushes - perhaps proving Siv's point.

"Anyway, uhm.. Sorry, Dagmar if I ovestepped with you too." She makes one more go of that.

Sally Mae is helping with the kitchen and notes the cookies "Oh these are nice, Hearth Kerri."

"S'okay..."

"Well.. unless anyone needs anything, I'm going to go to bed," Siv says. "Try not to look at my smart phone every 10 minutes"

"Don't take my comment too hard, Siv. It's just something to be aware of. If you like, I could keep your phone tonight. So it's less of a temptation."

A nod to Sally Mae. "They did come out nicely. Still plenty to decorate, but they don't all need to be done tonight. I'd actually like to leave some for Connor and Gerd to work on."

"No, can't. Mom and Dad want it with me for their use if they need it'. I promised" Siv says "And.. I'm fine, or will be. My ego rebounds easy enough. Lump says I live too much in the moment to linger on..." A sudden irritated look "argh."

Sally Mae nods, "I was going to offer, but okay. I'll leave em for the youngesters. You want the honor of supervising them when they do that or shall I?" She offers

"Oh, whichever one of us is available when they show." Kerri nods. "And Dagmar, if you like, I'll show you a different technique tomorrow, after we finish with the toolbox."

Siv heads up the stairs mumbling about Lump being under her skin.

"Sleep well, Siv." Kerri calls after her.

Sally Mae watches her go, and chuckles "Draw lots."

"Goodnight, everybody. Jaymes should be home now..."

Sally Mae smiles at Dagmar "Good night, Dagmar. Tell your dad we said hi."

"You're good to get home on your own?"

"Can do! And yeah, it's quick through the woods - I got Flyswatter!"

"Good. Thanks for keeping me company, and for your help."

"Night!" And she's on her way.

A look to Sally Mae. "Is there a bounty out for Hastein?"

Sally Mae watches her go, then laughs softly at Kerri's thing "Bounty? No. But a good looking fellow like that? Bait might be laid. Me? With my finals over, I might be tempted to make a play but I've already been asked out." A tilt "is it just me, or is Dagmar a bit passing fond of Hastein? For a girl who , with good reason, doesn't trust boys?"

"It's surprising, I think, but that's the vibe I'm getting, yes. She's never seemed particularly impressed by a pretty face, but she does seem to enjoy watching him."

"And she defends him. I haven't wanted to pry into her thoughts too much, though. I think that would compromise things."

"This could be a good thing, in small amounts, harmless ...but if he hurts her in anyway, Olgar's going to need to find a new trainee" her own eyes ALMOST manage to darken despite her 'just' being kinian

A bemused look. "For a moment there...you sounded just like Frank when he used to warn me about Olgar."

A blush "I try to help the girls with math sometimes, I'm fond. More than. It's going to be very hard to leave this place when the farmhold needs me full time after I graduate" A sigh "Anyway, like Frank, I probably mean well...and tell me that if Hastein DID hurt her you'd not want to have a coming to Thor meeting with him?"

"If Hastein hurt her, truly hurt her, he'd be in a world of pain."

"What I'm saying" the Iowa Girl agrees. A sigh "But I suppose it isn't fair to.." Someone else coming, nay, rushing in

"...BUT...I have a feeling Dagmar is getting to a point where she'll soon be able to respond to that kind of pain herself, rather than withdrawing and just taking it. I hope so, anyway. She's a good kid."

Then a blink at the sounds of rushing feet, and she tenses, alert. "Who is that?"

Tove comes in, "Ah, Kerri," She says looking about "Sally Mae I... do you.. I need to ... everything ...dinner"

The normally eloquent skald girl seems to be having a case of word loss.

Kerri looks at her and pulls out a stool. "Sit, Tove. What's wrong?"

"Are we alone?" Tove asks//"Just us girls" Sally Mae says getting a drink out for the girl

Tove nods, and breaks into tears, at lasst, really she can cry without her father or Jaymes seeing "The proposal was a lie..." And the ladies might notice she is ring free

A quick glance under the table to see if Connor has slipped in undetected. "Seems to be just us."

"A...a lie???" Kerri's expression is a combination of disbelief and outrage.

"What do you mean, a lie? Jaymes called it off???"
