In a game of tag of sorts, Siv goes looking for her mother.

BIC: "Jo, have you seen mum? She was looking for me, now I can't find her"

Jo basically offers coffee, that's what jo does. Sighing, the young woman gets a set look and goes into the kitchen

Siv is surprised at how clean things already are, "Well, shit. Plan B." She moves off.

A voice calls out "Swear Jar!" Gerd on watch!

Siv mutters under her breath and puts a quarter in the ...frellin swear jar.

Then goes off to do plan B.

She returns a bit later, and ducks to see if Herth Kerri has returned.

"Oof!" The pre-Thanksgiving shopping trip means using the full troll-strength to wrestle in the shopping bags, and she gets stuck half-way through the back door to the kitchen. "Little help?"

And Siv is there "On it" She helps funnel the load through, taking what the hearth wants to have priority

"Thank you! Just set that on that counter...and that one over there. Yes..." She manages to find surface space, at least, for all the bags, and takes a deep breath. "Whew!"

"I suppose it's liike moving army supplies around here for you," Siv says sorting and shelving obediently

"Can be. But that's part of the fun, figuring out how to manage it all."

She also sets about putting things away.

"Well," She says "I know you're busy, but... do you have a moment for an apology?"

A blink and a pause, and she turns to the girl. "I can make the time, sure."

"The other day, I was needlessly adversarial, and even snide though at the time I thought I was the soul of reason. I maybe young, but I'm not so young that it excuses poor manners to you . As my hearth, and an aunt in all but name, you deserved better. I am very sorry and apologize. You've enough to do without me acting like an overgrown brat with a persecution complex."

It comes out in a rush

She listens with a carefully neutral expression...then nods. "Rehearsed that a lot, did you?"

"nope. I wing half of what I do totally, the rest I just make a few points and improv from there" Honestly

"Right. Well...." A pause that goes on long enough to start to be awkward before she continues. "I won't lie; you pissed me off. So if you mean that apology, I truly appreciate it."

"I do" She says "I..wish I had as good a knack for apologies as it seems I manage when offending. "

She quirks a half-grin. "I get the sense you'll have plenty of opportunity to practice those apologies. At any rate, I accept it...but that's only for the part you said to me. I think you still need to talk to your mother about the situation with Tiffany."

"Well, you're actually the second person I apologized to. I spoke to Tiffany. Apologized for my behavior there and the misunderstanding.. Though I understand mum is looking for me?"

"Good," regarding Tiffany, with a nod. Then, "And yes, she is. I believe she is out there." She nods over her shoulder towards the practice ring.

"Well, before I go out there... One more thing for you. Words can be cheap, so..." She vanishes a momennnt saying 'Wait right there"

"Okay...?"

She returns with a box, wooden "I thought an apology gift might be in order"

"Oh, Siv...no...that's too much."

"Don't be so sure, I bought it before I really thought about it because the price was a steal. Go on, open it."

A sidelong look, and she takes the box and opens it carefully.

It's a sproingy weird thing that... she may never have seen the like...

"it's a Turnip Twaddler" Siv says "I realized you didn't have one"

"It twaddles Turnips"

Puzzled, she takes the thing halfway out of the box, and pauses before lifting it further, wondering if the thing is going to spring into action. "Is this nocker-ware? I've never seen...."

"I think it might be nocker creation, which..might explain why it was on sale. Don't let your tongue get too close? But I'm told if you want a turnip Twaddled there's nothing else like it"

"I...well...I don't normally twaddle my turnips, but...maybe I'll try that this year....?"

"Thank you, Siv."

"You're welcome. " A whisper "If it's a relief, I did take more time to get your Yule gift."

She clearly has doubts about the gift, but it was on sale and she wanted to apologize.

Kerri gives her a grin, and reaches out to give a half-hug, the Twaddler held in the other hand at a safe distance. "Thank you," she repeats. "Now...go talk to your mother."

"On my way, Aunt Kerri" the hug returned and then off she goes to the practice yard to find her mom.

Kerri nods, and if Siv glances back as she goes, she'll see the Hearth giving the device a look that's part dubious and part speculative about the possible uses....

In the ring, the Chieftain wields a practice blade and is performing practice drills against a pell.

The real prize might be the wooden box, clearly serviceable, solid, good hinges.
