She bites on her lower lip, trying not to show a flare of distress.

"What if I don't want..."

Coradel sits back and gentles her tone. "That is a different matter. I will not insist if it is truly something you do not want. But I do not want you to convince yourself you don't want it simply because you think you may not succeed at it. Be truthful with yourself in this, Deryn, whatever that truth might be."

"It isn't just that... I... I really do want... I think I would like... it would be nice, I think, to have a hold to call my own."

Voices outside call. "Baroness? Baronessess? Baronessi?"

She smiles and takes Sparrow's hand. "Then you should have it." Then the voices start, and she gives a bit of a wry grin. "Well...here we go." She rises and steps out of the little side room into the audience chamber proper.

"I think I saw them this way.." Delores says

Sparrow follows, finding her polite public smile.

The guard catches sight of the Ladies and bows. "Baroness... er, Baroness Truth.... Erm. Baroness Coradel? Sir August is looking for you."

"He's back? Quickly, have him come here."

Delores smiles, "I told you she was here." Pleased, and a curtsey, "Welcome back, Baroness Earth Runes."

A mutter under her breath. "And there is the other problem..."

The guard heads off.

"Delores! Oh, it is so good to see you...."

She does catch what Sparrow said. "What other problem, Deryn?"

"Nothing! Hey Delores."

Delores smiles "You look grand, Baroness Coradel, but..." A pause as her social dynamics processes the mother daughter dynamic.

Fast footsteps, and August comes jogging around the corner.

"well,as Steward I have to ask have you and Sir August eaten?"

"I know she hasn't." Pointed look.

Straight up to Coradel, who's hands he takes. "Hello Derynwydd, Delores." Without looking at them.

"Oh, I have no need for food right now!" And she doesn't even let August get that far, she meets him halfway, and barely restrains herself from throwing her arms around him.

"You completed your task?"

He nods.

A sunny smile. "Welcome back, August."

"I thought not, thank you, Baroness Deryn." She eyes the two, "But I think I'd need two thanes and a crow bar to get them to put a plate between them."

She does curtsey to the Knight

"Yes, I...ah...Delores, is there any court business that absolutely can't wait right at the moment?"

"Let me think," A pause, "Well, as Regent...and she worked wonderfully as one and acting chancellior, Baroness Deryn arranged much very efficiently. I trust she's mentioned your ah, guest? he can wait I suspect."

August's gaze is still glued to Coradel.

"If he would be so kind as to wait, yes, I think he should. There is...ah...one more bit of quest business that needs resolution." Her eyes also never leave his.

"Is there something I can do to help with this or do you and Sir August need...privacy?" Delicately

"Privacy would be deeply appreciated, yes, Delores." ((Is her room still her own, or have her things been moved?))

A pause, "Your old bedroom is still yours, but the ...Holder Room is also available and changed some well, I thought I'd leave your choice on where to sleep tonight." she readies to depart.

"Delores, Deryn...." She pulls her gaze from August for a moment. "Please do not think us ungrateful for all you have done and continue to do. But we must have this last bit of time before our Quest is complete."

"of course." She smiles.. she respects their privacy...really. meanwhile boggan mechisms are a whirl as she studies how they stand, stare, and more

A nod. "So we go. Sure...."

"No, we will...shall we, August?" Her eyes on his again, and she leads him to the door.

"Bye Derynwydd, Delores...." A murmur as he follows.

"good bye." she watches them go, and Deryn may notice the boggan is swallowing a smile at something

In the hallway, she asks, "The Holder's room....or...?"

"Wherever." Gently.

After they go. "Well. Seems it worked."

She leads him away to...somewhere private.

"Oh yes, very..." A sigh of happiness, "I think her Dougal Caller will have to look elsewhere." Then she turns to Deryn, "And.. why are you so worried about you being a second baroness here? It's not like she can't trust you"

"It isn't easy for the household, I don't think. Or the Barony as a whole, maybe, to have two crowns."

"The heir and the spare is a classic, and it issn't like sidhe always age normally anyway, time around the balefire and all.
