With a a quiet if resigned sigh, and a shake of his head, he follows the instructions and ends up behind her.

And so, Caspian DeBuke's part in this tale is done. But for two of them, it allows them a final flourish before taking the last seeming leg. For once set and braced, they take FLIGHT! HURLING INTO THE AIR IN THE MOST MELODRAMATIC WAY POSSIBLE.

(With many CAPS!)

She looks back at him with a careful smile as he sits, toboggan-style, behind her...and then laughs in surprise as they go abruptly airborne!

He clenches briefly, then un-clenches and mutters "Sorry...."

"Ha! Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me!" The Eagle laughs as he rises up up and up and above the snow

She shakes her head, but the wind and the cold and the flapping is all so much...she doesn't try to speak, just gives a whoop of exhilaration and holds on to feathers with one hand, her other hand resting on August's arms around her.

"I'm a leaf on the wind, watch me.. oh wait, let's hold that one. bad things."

And then they dive, heading into the snow storm of prismatic colors and and... they change!

Memories return to them, flickers of a past swell as they grow brighter, more majestic. The snow flakes of rainbow hue almost seem a halo about August. They form a crown around Coradel!

Her laughter turns into a gasp of memories and sensations and....oh...she tries to look back at August.

He loosens his grip enough to allow the turn, as he is staring at her as well.

Her husband and she remembers ... kissing him hotly just to say good morning.

August remembers his wife, and stretching nude next to her as they both awoke to the dawn

She shifts and embraces him, and kisses him intently, glory of flight no longer holding nearly as much interest.

And they remember more....

Her kiss seems to surprise him, he stiffens, tightening up... for a moment... until the memories....

His reaction doesn't dissuade her, not for a moment.

Memories of three women dance in August's head... three besides his wife. She helped select them and...

Memories of three men dance in Coradel's head... three besidesher husband. He helped approve them and...

Never once did a lover take the place of their spouse. Such dalliances were abandoned for duty or love alike when the need called.

And while the memories are there, and surprising, they are nowhere near as important as he who is with her, right now.

August feels confidence. He knows h ow to please his wife. How to touch her just so. Who else has hhad centuries to study what makes her writhe in delight?

and... they are lost in memory
