• With breaks, distractions, and general pigeon behavior:4 to 6 hours is entirely plausible.
• Taking all day: also plausible if the pooka stops to investigate shiny objects, steal french fries, gossip with crows, nap on a barn roof, or otherwise act like a pooka.

So, a trained homing pigeon could do it in 2-3 hours

And a childling pooka.... oh yeah.

I'd probably say a pigeon pooka who genuinely wants to get from Bergen to Carthage can do it comfortably in an afternoon, arriving much faster than someone walking (ha) and somewhat faster than someone driving the road route. The image of a pigeon pooka setting off after breakfast and arriving in Carthage around lunchtime feels about right.
