Just a thought nugget I will probably never get to run, while I want to use V20 rules, not V5, if I borrow from the timeline of the latter, in 2008 I think, the Tremere Home base in Viena goes BOOM, disrupting the Clan and breaking the pyramid. Bloodbonds fray, the Clan flaw changes to the Tremere being unable to bloodbond other Kindred, and bonding ghouls taking more drinks. Game wise this means every gargoyle out there would be able to give a big finger to their Tremere masters all at once, and every Tremere who ever wanted to be free getting a moment to do the same. And every ghoul might need to be REBONDED but... so let's say a Chronicle is based on the fall out. A city with a powerful tremere Chantry, powerful enough that even the Prince is reluctant to fuck with them, falls apart almost over night. Multiple masquerade breaches at risk . Some clans are eager to watch the Tremere in this city, but at the same time no one wants rampaging gargoyles, ghouls about to write tell all books, or warlocks run amok. Enter the PCs who must clean it up one way or another. Settle down the Gargoyles by Diplomacy or violence, find the ghouls on the lamb, and talk to the Tremere underlings who have a LOT of complaints about the Regent who bullied them. What city would be good for this? Preferably one that doesn't have a current By Night book to conflict with it.
