So, wedding was fun, and SCA demo was fun

SCA demo, we were set up in a share pavillion so we had to deal with roommates all day

They were very distracting

Plus, y'know, as Scadians we already HAVE a king...

Okay, I did not think I'd like Beauty and the Beast that much, knew I wouldn't hate it, but came in with a 'been there seen this in live action and original animated style' the latter lots of times. AND boom... I confess, it was gold. The choreography aspects got showcased very well, and the guy playing the Beast had great comedic chops mixed in with a powerful singing voice.

I.... have opinions about stage version of B&B, and it has to do with my visceral hatred of the costume design.

I do like some of the new songs in it, though

This is also possibly the result of years of "oh, that show has such GOOD costumes!!! Wouldn't ANY costume designer want to do that?" but also that every iteration of B&B has to be ironclad to the broadway design

And I don't know if I can be objective about the design because of how much a kind of mid design is just pushed and pushed and PUSHED as soooooooooooooo good, particuarly be people who have never actually considered design in their lives, but, well, it's Shiny and Elaborate and Technically Complex and Expensive, so it must be good

Look, I LOATHE the Song "I will always love you" because of how Whitney Houston and the Body Guard movie hammered it EVERYWHERE for a year and a half, it even ruined the Dolly original for me. And that had nothing to do with my job at the time. Nada, ZIp. Where as your very JOB had that pushing going on, so I can't throw stones . Also, I am not an expert on music, where as you ARE an expert on costume design, so you actually back your contempt with logical points not just passion. It's good!
