Of course. New fits today. My district is trying to eliminate the English for New Learners (ENL) classes -- like for kids who speak a different language and barely know any English -- by adding this kids to regular level English classes. Okay, I thought maybe I'd have a couple per class, and could work around it. Today I discovered that out of a class of 15, 11 of them have "emerging" English proficiency (as in, they are just beginning to get to a conversational stage) while the other 4 are regular level English students. Those 11 speak Spanish, which I don't know at all.
