Hey folks, sorry I’ve been MIA — life’s been a lot lately. Work’s been busy, and on top of that I’ve been helping my friend who was hospitalized and is now in skilled rehab. The long-term prognosis is still uncertain, and I’ve been helping manage his home, pets, and affairs while he’s laid up. It’s been pretty overwhelming, but I miss you all and hope to be back soon. 💛

Actually not great. It's a super depressing and poorly run facility, the food is awful, and he doesn't feel like he's getting proper care - and every week they basically warn him that the insurance could deem his rehab stay as over and kick him out with a pittance of home health support - and him unable to even get out of bed

Not really helpful. This is the place he's at that insurance covers. It is what it is. And TBH they ALL have bad reviews. They are depressing places and no one ever goes online to share GOOD experiences

A good point. Sorry. I'm admittedly out of my depth in anything resembling that and can only imagine.

Here's a typical story from my school: We've been getting told about the amazing staff appreciation lunch being provided today. A high-quality food truck came to campus, and everybody had from 11:30 to 1:00 to get out there and get lunch. Well, during that time period, I have about a 40 minute zone where I can eat lunch. I figured that'd be plenty of time!

I got down there, and the line of teachers was RIDICULOUSLY long, the service at the food truck was extremely slow because of how overwhelmed they were by the demand, and I never even got to place my order before my lunch time was up and I had to be back in class.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway -- they apparently ran out of food.

SOmeone does not understand logistics.

It would have made a lot more sense for somebody to take our orders in advance, and then just have them delivered around or something.
