Honestly, I only helped for the half hour so more to it I think. I didn't realize the under deck was being cleaned but friend did not ask. I'm tired enough and sweaty enough that my shame levels are tolerable

Yeah, but...this is a thing. It's like not believing I'm invited to visit somebody unless they SPECIFICALLY and DIRECTLY invite me and give a specific date/time. If I'm not being directly ASKED to do a thing, I might volunteer, but not assume that my help was needed.
