Local college is doing Pride and Prejudice in November, and the final performance has a tea prior to the show. Meet the performers, have tea and light snacks, wander the very pretty grounds, and dress up is optional. Well I have never met a dress up/costume opportunity I didn't take, and Thing2 is interested in going for the snacks, I think.

SO... 1812 ballpark, RegencyBounding BUT I don't want to buy or make a whole set of costumes. Also, I think that high Empire (?) waist would like ratshit on me. Thing2 could ABSOLUTELY pull off a young gentleman vest-tophat-cravat combo and I have most of that. Thoughts?

I'll still look 4 months pregnant and/or have to resort to spring-loaded underwear, but it is what it is. I suppose that a damn waistline pretending to be a bustier is the only fashion option for someone attending a garden party?

I have a dress that might work; I could probably rig up a line and belt that will approximate the waistline. It's green, though. I have a brown shawl kind of thing that would go with it but I'm not sure the color scheme is right?

Hm. Part of the problem with that is I'm not big on dresses or skirts to start with. BUT I do have time to figure something out, especially with expert help!
