Physically improving, mentally not great. He does not like it

Poor kid, glad he's physically better but sympathies

Refusing to eat so I'm sure he's hungry too, and we have to force him to take his medicine

I mean... from his point of view, the rest of existence is going to be like this; hurting and ick and ill and feel bad and need comfort and no comfort. That's GOT to suck.

Of course, appreciating his PoV doesn't help you get through it as a parent, much.

Yeah Gyrf understands. He had constant ear infections as a child

My sibs had them, not constantly but man were they miserable

Blessedly we have mostly been free from them but not entirely; they SUCK, and there's no way to help the wee ones understand.
